You should know that p99 does not condone the renting of Tor's. Therefore you should edit your post to indicate that you purchased your copy of Everquest like everyone else on Project 1999.

Hey I spent 3 years of my life and hundreds of dollars if not $1000 or more on Live Everquest only to have them M:TG the whole thing with for-profit expansions. If that doesn't entitle me I don't know what does.

I can feel your pain, 10 and 11 took me forever and a lot of patience as a druid with just looted trash for armor and weapon.

If you take your time, learn the pathing of mobs to avoid finding yourself in the path of a deadly mob, and spend some time killing skele's and black bears for bone chips and skins, and you will be able to upgrade your weapon quickly.

Once you upgrade from the basic weapon you'll find killing those blues becomes easier. I did exactly as you have, although I left Qeynos at lvl 3 and ran to EC where I leveled. I found a nice niche in the zone and worked it over and over, medding and healing between battles and only died when I got risky or broke my cycle.

Be sure to visit the tunnel regularly for SoW (a life saver when things go bad) and a buff or 2. Everyone there is friendly and willing to help out, you just have to ask.

I'm only lvl 16 druid (My main) but I also had the experience of 5-6 years on Live, so I knew the ropes, but stick with it, it is a lot of fun.

i r dissapoint

i opened thread thinking it would be interesting about some drama because he is whoring his life away to EQ and wife is ready to divorce him like my wife, although im not totally whoring out my life to EQ, she just hates games in general

guess i did still laugh at his story lol

Helpful tip, when running away jump to gain a little distance and use the strafe + forward key to move a little bit faster which should help you get away from average runspeed NPCs. You are a halfling, HIDE HIDE HIDE. If you are going away or medding, target a hostile npc and keep hitting hide until it cons indif. Once you get SOW, if you die, it's generally your own stupidity or lag.

gnomishfirework 11-03-2011 09:42 AM

dude. it isn't eq. its something else in your life causing the stress. take a break. figure that out. then come back. if you feel frustrated, step away.

get your wife to play.

Most important of all, and this will make it so you cna actualyl start playing again immediately, with your wife.

smoke some weed. seriously. get baked and try giving a fuck you died. it sucks ,but you won't go into an expletive laced rant.

i die, and im like "whatever." I don't care.

This game is hard, I'd say that's a large portion of my attraction with it.

Dieing sucks, Losing EXP sucks, but it makes the achievement of leveling better.

Don't take the game so hard. If you die and and up raging take a break. A lost hour of grinding sucks unless you were having fun then it sucks less. Try to do things that are fun and get your experience rather than grind from level to level.

Just remember Classic Everquest is Hard. Like much harder than most other games I played. You get penalized for dieing, but it's still just a game so don't trip.

The appeal of this game is the emotional involvement it brings. Few games these days ever invoke the level of fear, joy, or accomplishment this game accomplishes.

Everquest really is a life lesson if you try to learn from it and grow as a person. Sometimes you just have to learn to pick yourself up from dead bottom and start all over again.

If you're frustrated about the hr (more like 10 mins) it takes a Druid to solo back death exp it's prob good that you quit. The time to do things increases as do the stakes.

It takes years of lonely Friday nights and a ton of pizza to figure this game out. Then again, that Dervish Thug will haunt your dreams for eternity.

On second thought get a sow in the EC tunnel until you can cast it. Use harmony and snare. The game is easy mode that way.
