Charasis on a Monk is a duo spot - could it technically be done? Sure, but it's a huge headache with the harm touches and no Necro or shaman to heal you

Yup, if you have Beads, Stalking Probes, or a Pet, you can pop the Harm Touches on the mobs in Charasis. They have a pretty long recast time, maybe an hour? So you have plenty of time after a pop to kill the mob without worrying about Harm Touch.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WmDvk3udrhI I have a video showing this with my pet. You can see where the safe spot is in north, and get an idea of how I do pulling there solo. Obviously it won't be precisely the same for Monk since I have a lull.

Im not saying its not possible, im saying its a headache, which it is. When you send in 3-5 sperate sets of eyes and the fucking mob keeps 1 hitting them w/o popping HT it will make you want to pull your hair out.

Beads have a retarded cast time also, feels like 45seconds even though I think its only 10

I agree with you there, sometimes the mobs do not instantly Harm Touch. If you have Stalking Probes instead of beads, you will probably chew through them pretty quick.

Well I think the point of the post is that he's bored of KC and wants a little excitement. That's why I suggested HS. Yes, it's better as a duo or trio, but as solo monk its pretty fun and challenging.

Plus, when you finally down a named and get your own addy club, that's pretty rewarding.

Yup, Charasis is a fun zone, and North/Basement are pretty accessible for a Monk, plus you get a chance at an Adamantite Club as you say if you are in a wing instead of the Basement. I am currently soloing my SK to 60 in Charasis. It is even better XP now after the recent ZEM buffs.

I only advise against West because there are no safe spots to camp in, so it can be a problematic area, especially if you occasionally crash on login. I get that problem, so I don't really want to log in, crash, and then have the bad luck of agroing a bunch of mobs and dying while I am waiting to log back in hehe.

Getting a res in Charasis can already be a bit of a pain since it isn't as easy for clerics to get in, and West is tougher to get into than North or Basement. Some people do camp clerics in West, so you could make friends with them and hope they play somewhat frequently hehe.

I have been leveling in HS on blue and the zone is pretty hopping. Multiple nights have groups in South/East and soloers in basement and north.

I'd recommend it. I've been able to get rezzes easily every time I've died.

Charasis West is fun, but be careful. There are no true safe spots to camp that I could find. Did some testing on my Shadowknight throughout all of West. The best you can do is the big long hallway next to the pitfall trap. If you camp closer to the opposite side of the hallway from the pitfall trap, you will only have the worst case scenario of agroing 3 mobs on login. Not a fun time if you have the issue where your client sometimes crashes on loading (including login). Having 3x Harmtouchers come at you right on login can be pretty scary lol. If you can cast IVU before logging out that helps, but there is no way to know the mob composition, so it's always a risk. Basically there is one pather that paths through the entire hallway. If you are lucky, you can log in while the pather is close to the pitfall trap. Then you won't agro anything. If you log in while the pather is in the middle of the hallway, you will only get the pather. If you login when the pather is on the opposite side of the hallway from the pitfall trap, you will social two more spawns at the end of the hall. Camping closer to the pitfall trap is worse, as you can agro more than 3 mobs if you log in while the pather is coming from the pitfall trap. I believe you count 10 tiles from the pitfall trap, and camp on that tile. It will keep you far enough away from the mobs closer to the pitfall trap, at the expense of being a bit too close to the two mobs at the end of the hall. I couldn't find a perfect spot where you wouldn't agro anything but the pather.

Someone just told me like 2 weeks ago there are exactly 2 tiles that you can stand on that will only aggro the 1 pather at most no matter what in HS west. I do not have an exact count of it though. It seemed to be about halfway down the hall but closer to the pit trap side.

Hmm maybe I will take another look, that would be awesome if true. I am counting full tiles past the pitfall rug. I did my testing only a few days ago. If I remember correctly from the test, tiles 8 and 9 from the rug can agro like 5 mobs from the pitfall trap area if you get unlucky with the Pather's position, they social because the pather is close enough to them. The number of mobs depends on how many pathers you are unlucky enough to get. I think the other hallway has two pathers that go by the pitfall rug. That is why I moved to tile 10, which does not seem to cause this to happen. However, tile 10 can agro the two mobs at the end of the hall if the pather happens to be coming from that area. Even though they are too far to agro if the pather wasn't there, they basically social when the pather starts coming back, because you agro the pather too close to them. Maybe it is better if you are level 60? I believe agro radius does get influenced by level difference. Or maybe it is because I am a Troll, and thus I am bigger? I am not sure if character size plays a role in determining if you are in the agro radius. Height does play a role in line of sight checks, so it wouldn't surprise me if width was included for agro radius.
