You know what, it was god damn windows defender firewall god damn horseshit!

So I opened the little Windows Firewall control panel and told it to allow eqgame.exe to do its thing, and then I went and forwarded port 5998 on my router and BAM I'm in norrath killing Fire Beetles just like that.
