After VoA the expansions just all felt the same, boring and easy.
I remember beta testing a raid in Crystal Caverns 2.0 (which was really boring), then later that night raiding on Mac server either like Bertoxxulous or Rallos Zek. Nothing will ever compare to the majesty that was Planes of Power. |
Played very hardcore from the day servers launched until we cleared VP. I was a lvl 57 paladin at the time, and was the (tied for) highest level paladin on the server. Was so burnt out, I had to quit. My played time from March 99 to June/Julyish of 2000 was something like 160 days /played. Yuck.

I left for good when they enabled Wood Elves to become Beastlords - with a damn shrubbery as a pet...

Catmen were pretty bad but they frogs showed they didn't know what they were doing any more.

LDoN is what did it for me. Instanced group straight line dungeons? It was awful.

the idea of ldon was cool (more dungeons in old world) too bad they made them instances.

After Veil of Alaris in 2012. Was a long haul of playing/raiding from '99 until then while maintaining my family/work life. In the end just got tired of the expansion churn.

I quit at Ykesha. I don't think it was because I particularly disliked the direction the game was going, I just didn't have any time to play any more. I think WoW vanilla came out, etc, which ironically, made me play as much as I used to with EQ back in the day. WoW vanilla was good. It just turned to shit. :p
I was that guy who played with old models because I refused to look at the ugly abominations that Luclin vomited on everyone. I didn't get the ride any mounts, but fuck it, I had Run 3, it didn't even matter. |
