I just got to part 3 of this quest. I collected 4 yakman parts and handed them in to Bloodmaw without it aggroing, however nothing happened. Bloodmaw did not despawn, and the bloody gnome captive would not respond to hails.

3. The third piece is found via a mini-quest. Kill Tizmaks in Great Divide until you have four of the NO DROP Yakman Parts. Hand all four parts to Bloodmaw in the same zone. Bloodmaw will despawn after you give him the parts. After this happens, say, 'I want the map please' to the gnome captive. He'll give you the third piece.

From what I've read, and my own experience doing the quest multiple times, you should be able to complete the turn in, even being KoS to bloodmaw, as long as it doesn't aggro. You'd do that via harmony/pacify to lower aggro range, or just be high level enough that you can walk right up to it.
EDIT:
I just did this part a second time and used hide on my turn in to con indifferent. The turn in worked while indifferent. |
