btw, the reason locking FPS could be a solution is that updates are sent to the server as packets. And if EQ is anything like most online games I've dissected from the early 2000's, it sends an update on each "redraw of your screen". If you don't lock the FPS, it is possible that you are sending too many packets to the server, and a few of them get "lost", thus you feel "lag" because only every 3-4 packets actually register on the server.

(this is a guesstimation on how the server-client is working on P99, and is in no way guaranteed to be the way they coded it)

This may indeed be a classic feature. Trying getting a PC circa 1999.

best option i can provide at this time is lower all your settings, even lower ur fps below 60

lower all settings, take off shadows, anyting that requires loading time, maybe even remove shit from globalload.txt (in resources folder).

anything to improve loading time into TT to avoid the risk of de-synching during said loding time

edit: sum1 should try using eqlite client to see if that helps (less stuff loading by default)

IT really doesn't feel like an FPS issue, its purely my Ping that suffers. I'll zone in and have a normal ping of 300 or so and after 20 seconds or so, it climbs it way slowly to about 20,000 or something stupid.

I can sometimes make it to Seb, but never click the door because it doesn't register server side that I have done so. So i have to quit, log back in and click the door within that 20 second window of good ping.

FPS is directly tied towards the sending of network packets. So thats why a framerate limiter/balancing your average frames is advised as helping.

I haven't had any lagspikes in TT after doing many (many) forager cycles. I got my first 2 this weekend, but it was a spike of about 10 seconds then back to normal.

I also wouldn't consider a ping of 300 to be normal. That's pretty damn high.

Like Bamzal suggested, I would turn off any and all non-classic features like shadows and luclin models.

This is the only Zone i've come across this but as soon as i Zone into TT, My ping spikes out to like 120,000 or some stupid shit.

I have 3 mates also who are playing from Western Australia, and the problem has hit us all. None of us can really zone in or out of TT. This problem is not just my end if 2 others from completely different locations are expierencing the exact same problems.

I Zone out of seb and within 20 seconds of being in TT, my ping skyrockets. Same problem with my 2 mates playing.

Any help appreciated.

What ISP you with mate? I'm having the same issue, trying to isolate the problem.
