As a low-level Druid, all you need are your spells and maybe (if you want to go farm it yourself) a Goblin Ghazugi Ring. Otherwise, plat really won't do anything: you can buy a +5 Wisdom (or whatever) item, but that +5 Wis will have no meaningful impact on your leveling speed.
However, taking time out from leveling to farm plat will slow down your leveling. And keep in mind: when you get to higher levels, you can farm plat much more quickly.
Thus, it really makes a lot more sense to level, then farm plat, than it does to do the reverse.
