Well know by about mid-February whether we should actually start panicking or not.

If there's thousands of confirmed infections OUTSIDE of China by then, I'll start to worry a bit!

Chinese economy is in free fall today, just in time to cause a recession here before the upcoming election.

Apparently they've had success in treating the Virus with anti-HIV medication in Thailand. Not a vaccine, but a treatment that seemingly works.

You can probably stop stockpiling canned beans.

NNNOOOO!!! Keep stockpiling! You're gonna be eating those beans exclusively after you get your hospital bill! Those drugs are EXTREMELY expensive here in the US (which is exclusive to the US they cost literally 1/1000th as much in most other countries.

I went back to the hardware store to get another mask as a backup and the entire section was completely picked clean. Even the very expensive masks with external filters and faceshields were gone. It was just a couple of empty boxes and that's it.

As a Brit, and I speak for all my compatriots, I will always keep the larder stocked with a five year supply of tinned baked beans in tomato sauce. It’s the way.

So it's basically airborne AIDS and we're supposed to not be worrying?

Don't like 50000 people in the US die annually from regular old generic flu? I see no compelling reason to go name brand
