Honestly, President Obama takes most of the blame here. By the last two years of Bush 43, it was clear to many/most that the Afghans would never be ready. Barry Smooth should have done this year 1 of his presidency, but he was shrewd enough to understand how petty and stupid the American electorate is, so he kicked the can down the road.
