Man you guys are making me feel bad. I've been tipping 25p any time someone ports me.
Im, a new player only one character, and so far I'm lev36 and have like 600p to my name, while trying to save up for a mid range weapon.

Anyhoo, I appreciate the work porters do... never keep them waiting. Only ask for a port when I am at the pickup ring (or EC/OT-ramp), always friendly..... hopefully I havent made it onto any blacklists....

Tip amount=Your level. Lets just stick with this equation.

25p is perfectly fine for your level.

When you're level 60, paying 60p for a port is no sweat.

My main is a Rogue, so I'm dirt poor too.

I've never had a porter complain when tipped with c2 and GoB. So I am just going to chalk this up to the typical disconnect between forums and actually playing the game. Turns out forums rarely reflect what goes on the actual server. Consider me shocked by this realization.

tip whatever you think you can afford and is fair, since that is the literal definition of what a tip is. The whole 1p=1lvl thing is utter and complete bullshit, it's basically a conspiracy started by Portapotty to raise porting profits. You might be destitute and unable to afford even your spells depending on what class you are and where you're grinding, all the way to 60. Especially in groups, where the distribution of the little loot you get is not even fair. You might not even be able to carry that much junk to sell if your str is poor and you can't afford to stop medding or you're evil and your closest vendor zone is gypsies 3 zones away and your closest bank is even farther away.

There's enough churn with new players and shit that even if you make a few enemies it won't affect you that much. And if you want to explain your situation I am sure most people would be understanding.
