Of course we could tax the rich and give basic income to the poor and alleviate some of all this hate and vitriol we have for each other but that's out of the question because it might cause inflation.

So did we not have criminals "with no criminal history with a low or higher IQ who is not psychotic and understands the benefits of lying" prior to the 1980's? And do other countries not have such criminals?

Because we didn't have mass shootings (of the modern variety) prior to that, and other countries have no such shootings, or far fewer (per capita) than us ... and those facts seem to directly contradict your point.

This is horse shit. No, mass shootings are not even remotely unique to america, nor do they occur the most often per capita in america, unless you get REALLY specific and selective with which statistics you're including. In a country this large, they are still *extremely* rare, and there are FAR more defensive uses of guns to save lives every year than to commit violent crime.

Also as usual dems have nothing to say about their insanely violent cities that already have extremely tight gun laws.

Everyone agrees it's horrifically sad that this happened, it's just that's usually not a good time to draft policy. Human nature is nothing if not impulsive and short sighted.

Might have been cultural differences. And another factor as I’ve said before on this forum is how it is reported on, which takes an initial mass shooting to create motivation

When the news makes these people infamous, they inspire copycats. So IMO it is a combination of cultural changes and news reporting inspiring others to top the “body count” and become infamous themselves. This person appeared to have messaged people on social media posting pictures beforehand. They want to be seen

Don’t name them, localize the story, insult them in the story, don’t post body counts, don’t post manifestos

Or else, have fun with more mass shootings

Haha a month of news on it, because it occurred a month ago? I guess!

Beto Ororkue for some reason didn't chastise the governor of ny for not caring about people getting shot. Because he's a politically opportunistic dirtball, of course.

Definitions matter. The big ones are rare and do not represent the bulk of mass shooting statistics. See Sweden sex laws for analog.

What about compared to modern countries like Spain and Japan? If you exclude Yemen, Syria, and places like El Salvador, we’re pretty high up on the list

people in spain and japan keep their personal lives to themselves instead of shoving it in everyones face because every single one of them thinks they're the big boss daddy like over here.
