Watched some of it last night, the stream kept cutting out, losing audio etc.

What I did see I wasn't too impressed with - I'm not a big fan of change, and I hate the look of the new PS4 controller. Looks expensive, meaning when you buy a PS4 for however much, a second official controller is going to be a shit-ton to buy seperately :/

The idea that the PS4 will anticipate what I want to buy from the store and download it for me? Fuck off, its like saying "you'll love this, I know you better than you know yourself"...and linking to social media? I'd rather not have my whole life advertised on the interwebs thanks.

Often what isn't said is as important as what they did say. No mention of keeping games free to play online (would have been a fantastic selling point), so PS4 owners are on an xbox live style points system I guess.

Playstation fan all my life, bought a clunky PS1 when I was 14 with some birthday cash and money saved from delivering papers :D This could be the end though, maybe I'm just getting old!

personally looking forward to new xbox, been an xbox fan since the original, xbox 360 hit it out of the park imo.

was really interested to see what kind of hardware the new generation would be packing - im excited to see what is essentially a high end PC for ~400 bucks. Very cool.

Best part is that game designers will really be able to crank it up graphics wise, watchdogs looks simply amazing. But in the end, its still going to come down to gameplay - graphics only push a title so far. I'm hoping to see some new innovations coming out of this next generation.

i definitely remember seeing 360 for the first time, playing gears of war, and being simply blown away at something we are all very, very used to by now - a cover shooter. The graphics, gameplay, and overall presentation of that game back when it first came out was simply breathtaking. i remember thinking 'holy shit... if they're doing this at the beginning of this consoles lifecycle.. imagine what they'll do in a few years'.

unfortunately, from there, things didnt improve too much. Games definitely got better, but alot of games also got a LOT worse. i really want to see some new and awesome stuff on that same scale coming out in the next generation - whether it will actually happen or not remains to be seen, but titles like last of us and watchdogs definitely look promising. Here's hoping I'll find a reason to buy the new consoles this generation. Please wow me microsoft - if they have any strategic sense (and microsoft has been pretty hit and miss when it comes to that....) at all, they'll be announcing new 360 within 30 days.

i played for like a year or so was fun and very tough game to play was a little mad when they shut it down the pop was higher than EQ mac

Don't you badmouth EQOA. It was an amazing game and I'll miss it forever. ;_;

Only thing in common was the fact that it was in the EQ universe, really.


D3 is literally just a straight port so Blizz/Sony can leech more paypal sheckles.

I can't knock it as I never played it, just judged from the screenshots and figured that it would be bad because its a MMO for a console. I'll look up some YouTube footage :p

I did the same thing with an xbox 360. Bought one because I wanted to play Fallout 3 (no working PC at the time) and didn't want to pay the extra £60-70 difference to get buy a PS3 instead. Ended up hating the xbox controller (far too bulky, flippers are crap, needs batteries), hating the points system...selling it on at mate's rates to someone and buying a PS3. Never looked back actually :)

PS4 though? Super sceptical :(

heard a ton of really terrible shit about illumiroom. If thats the main xbox selling point ill buy a ps4. Its a neat idea, but in its current state its nothing more than a tech demo - that video proves it.

When microsoft unveiled that tech a month or two ago they were very clear to make people understand it was a tech demo - i highly doubt they're sticking this in next gen xbox's.

I think you could expect good graphics from consoles, I didn't say I thought they were bad in fact I think Deep Down looks pretty sweet I was just thinking that they would be better. I think certain ps3 games were on par with lower end computers and I guess I thought next gen would close the gap even more but certainly not.

I grew up on consoles. After I had graduated to PC gaming though I've learned that they aren't all that great.

Recently they've become a road-block in so many things that prevent gaming from being anything remotely decent. I'm getting sick of 99% of releases being developed with aging consoles in mind not only holding back any potential for developmental progress when it comes to engines, but also how the user interfaces end up being gawdawful terrible, Skyrim and Rage were recent examples of this, heck Oblivion was a gigantic downgrade from Morrowind in regards to the user interface, I recall most reviewers using the term "Xboxified" to describe it.

Now we even have the whole DLC debacle that EA games is shoving down the industry's throat harder than a conquistidor shoving his sword through a native. What ever happened to a real expansion to a game?

I get that modern day MMORPGs are designed for autists who want to have a one click demigod character that they can then not play with as they watch cut-scenes, but why are all of the other genres falling into a shit-pile as well?

Starcraft II: Catered too hard to the Koreans, alienated the casual players (No lan STILL? really?)
Skyrim: Forgettable bug-filled mess with pretty skin.
Rage: /Facedesk
Diablo III: Laughable

I stopped buying games at this point and haven't even bothered to pirate any because they are all the same at this point. The industry can crash and burn for all I care, Minecraft made in some dude's basement was more fulfilling than all that the industry has released in the past 3 years combined.
