View Full Version : Where to go?

Hey there. I just hit 20 on my iksar shaman and have sort of seen the end of Kurn's. I'm not sure where to go from here to be honest with you. I've tried Lake of Ill Omen but am having no luck finding groups. As for solo - If I try to rough it out and melee/cast a blue con down, I run the risk of dying, and if I root kite, I'm oom after the one kill (again, a blue con).
Any hints?

Are you planning on staying on Kunark, or do you want to venture to Antonica?

Not really sure I suppose. Whatever works I guess is the answer.

find a port to Butcherblock or Gfay and go to Unrest/Mistmoore, or find a social leveling guild that will have people to play with you to make it easier.
Roughing it out solo is rarely the option unless you're super twinked out which I assume you're not since you're having problems with blues.

On my sham I think I did upperguk at those levels. Sometimes it was hard to get a group but you could put one together. Hmm grouping in SK at the bird house maybe. And I think orcs or gnolls in highpass hold is a decent camp you might have to put your own group together though cause its not camped as much.
I think I might have done a level or two on the highest crocs in oasis too, up until about 22 or so I think they are quite soloable for a shaman to root rot.
Unrest has a couple camps that I think work up until the high 20's. First floor I think until 24? 2nd floor you can do to like 29. And unrest is almost always filled for groups.
Overthere is possible another choice but I think you might be too low. I can't remember what level you can start there.
Hope some of these choices help you!

Unless you are playing during peak times, you'd probably want to find a group and go to where they are forming as opposed to going to a zone and hoping to find a group.
Warsliks Woods is supposed to be good up to 30, after that you can try to form a group in Dalnir which starts at lvl 25ish. If you can manage to get a group to go there, the top half (not outpost of course) of The Overthere is great xp from 20-25. This is all on Kunark.

Oh. And I'm no master of the shaman but for an untwinked character I think root-rot is your best option for soloing. How I did it on crocs up until about 22 was
Root
Dot1 (disease)
Dot2 (poison)
wait a bit recast Root
Dot2
Nuke or melee depending on HP left on mob
I guess the ideal for soloing untwinked is to find that sweet spot to cast on mobs that are just about to go light blue so you dont get resists.
Although I kinda have trouble making soloing efficient on my shaman as well. =\

I did WW giant fort from 20 to 36 on my shaman killing evergreens. It is great exp and good pp and there are groups too. You will have rough time from 20-24 if soloing, but its all good after that. I did kaesora from 36-40 which is awsome exp plus chance for very nice shammy shield drop. 40+ go to CoM. I personaly would not recommend to leave kunark, it is a waste of time.

Must be the time of day. No groups actively in any of those areas. Blah. I just need to find a twink monk to heal haha.

Pretty sure I stayed in Kurns then hit up the giant fort or OT mud pit.
thats unfortunate, LOIO wall groups are sexy at that level. At 20 you can start working around HHP/HK, Guk A, Najeena deeper in, Unrest, Mistmoore. Get off Kubark if you're looking to group, that place is a ghost town until ramp groups in OT

LOIO is fine for grouping during the busy hours. Forget all about getting a group at other times though.
That's pretty much true for all of kunark, though occasionally you will find a group in OT or maybe in DL during the off hours.

I have 25lvl monk alt parked in loio for when I have nothing to do on my main. Hit me up if you want to duo for a bit. I mostly solo with him, would not mind some company.

Is the xp (or are the xp modifiers of Kunark zones) better than those of the old world? I'm only level 7 right now on my cleric and I'm duo'ing with an enchanter in Blackburrow. Once we're 12 he can start charming stuff and I should have the healing power to keep us up and running. I'm just wondering if it is worth it to go to Kunark early .. if anything, it would be an adventure.

What I do is just type /who all (my level) and start sending tells. I think that is the most efficient way to find where people are to level with. Also check out http://wiki.project1999.org/Recommended_Levels_and_ZEM_List I am not sure if the numbers are currently accurate, but worst case scenario: you find good zones for your level. Best case scenario: the numbers are correct and you can maximize your xp/time invested.
