I watched this because so many people recommended it to me. At first it seems really stupid, with all the "Oh no, video games are real and we need to beat this super hard thing to make it back to the real world!" stuff, but the more I watched it the better it got. It does a good job of exploring some aspects of the human condition, and that's something I can appreciate.

Yeah, first episode was "this is dot hack" then I got to the episode where they search for the city PKers and such, really psychological

Curb = so-so though obviously inferior to Seinfeld. Breaking Bad was alright for the first 2 seasons then went down the toilet. Deadwood I've never watched, the rest of your list is shit.

I've unhooked my cable 6 years ago, All of the shows you've listed with the exception of Breaking Bad which I've seen because someone I know owns the DVD's and suggested I watch it, are over 6 years old.

I haven't watched any of the stuff on my "watching" list other than One Piece for a long time, I read the Manga for many of them. Pretty sure I haven't watched any of those other series for at least a year now. I'm really generous with my ratings lol, so don't read too much into those.

Actually been re-watching a lot of One Piece because a friend is working his way through getting caught up. Although that will likely stop now since he's getting pretty close and I've seen it all too recently.

Anime is terribad imo... the expressions and animations get on my nerves so bad. I have never in my life seen such overuse of lens flare and quirky sound effects :(

That being said, I really liked Gundam Seed, but even that I had trouble keeping up with. Voltron was my shit.

Transformers: Prime is astounding. It is, in my opinion, better than the original series and easily the best Transformers ever made. In 1080p and 5.1 surround, it's gorgeous. The voice acting is superior, the story is excellent. The violence and themes presented are quite adult in nature. The characterization is intriguing and you will find yourself rooting for multiple teams, much in the way of ASOIAF. Awesome in every way.

I kinda grew up with this one, along with Robotech / Rouruni Kenshin (I think it was advertised as Samurai X that time)/ Trigun and Cowboy Bepop. So all of them kinda hold a special place amongst favorites. Like Akira / Ninja Scrolls / Metropolis.

And though now I only follow Gintama religiously, there are some other titles that are kinda worth watching as well (opinions may differ of course) :

Black Lagoon (the dubbed version is pretty good imo, probably better than the subbed)
Darker than Black (the first season only)
Hellsing (the recent OVAs which follow the manga I think)
Kara No Kyokai (Garden of Sinners)
Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni series
Monogatari series (Bakemonogatari, Nisemonogatari, Nekomonogatari)
Monster

If you're not into watching something with a lot of episodes though, take a look into Denpa Teki Na Kanojo (just two OVAs, but decent ones, just try to find a good quality out there).

For shits and giggles you can always revert to (Boobs with XXXX) series, like for example, Highschool of the Dead is Boobs with Zombies, Ikky Tousen is Boobs with MartialArts, etc etc etc.
