dont run the eqemu launcher, just run eqgame.exe
if that doesn't work, please post here. I will go through the usual routine and we will figure out whats going on.
maybe my new wifey lyra will show up too :D

Having the same issue, I tried running just the eqgame.exe but it comes up with an error and says "Please run EverQuest.exe" which will end up patching the game no?

trying to remember the old settings patchme at the end of target in the short cut and what not. Do you remember what the eqhost file is supposed to be set as?
[LoginServer]
Host=login.eqemulator.net:5998
?

If you're able to run eqgame.exe, something else is wrong. I know that myself and plenty of others can run it just fine. Try making it a shortcut on your desktop, and make *sure* that this is added to the end of it.
eqgame.exe" patchme
Honestly, you may want to reinstall, and follow all the setup instructions found at project1999.org
**edit**
the correct eqhost is:
Host=login.eqemulator.net:5998

Heres a link to the latest patch notes where you can download the files manually
http://www.project1999.org/forums/showthread.php?t=84589
Just drag and drop them into your everquest folder.
Also, if you havent already make a shortcut of the eqgame.exe and then right click, got to properties, and make sure your target box has patchme written after what ever is in the target box.
