Happened around 11am EST~, was yellow text that a dark fae had taken over the faerie camp in Lfay. I charmed a brownie guard gave it some weps and haste, engaged said dark fae. I was able to take it down to about 30% until it got super buff MR resist / started dropping ice comets (apparently unintentionally). Like 13 Azrael showed up and I guess finished off the beast. Illusion pots were handed out to people, was fun, something to do. Hope to see more cool stuff!

Staff, at least to me, means CSR / Admins. People who if they played here could potentially become emotionally involved or invested in one side or player being favored and hence treat them better etc. A dev who has no access to such functions, whose work is approved before implemented, and whose changes are those requested by the community as to be according to "Classic" presents no such conflict of interest. If you can think of a potential conflict of interest of a dev according to the way changes work here (posted in a bug forum, proof of classic or not classic presented, ultimately approved or not approved for being put into a patch) please let me know pal.

Tbh, I'd be happy as shit to get my hands dirty in some EQ code and have professional experience/currently employed as a Java (Javascript + Ajax)/SQL/XML+HTML developer.

I'll be honest before I lay out my most sincere offer and help. I have only one reservation with project as a whole. Players cannot come back after cheating or be allowed to get away with cheating. Exploited loot needs to be removed. I don't feel good dedicating huge sums of my free time when that is going on, I just wouldn't feel good about it.

That said, and in line with my previous comment, if I were to contribute, I would want absolutely 0 involvement in GMing the server or handling the player base. I'd be too strict about rule enforcement and a total nazi. Even though I think you should have that here, I know you do not want that.

My mission statement would be to help you guys clear your Kunark/Classic plate and get Velious going which is what everyone really wants, and the crown jewel to your project.

I'd also be willing to help out with PvP resist coding or mechanics, of course pending review of you + anyone else before implementation. This could even just be "here's what we have" without having direct access to code and "here's what values we have for resist rates for each spell". I could fix things and make determinations from there.

I have a very sharp memory of Classic EQ in both raiding, pvp and pvp contesting of raid targets. I was directly involved in the nastiest FFA pvp server guild war to cross classic EQ. I remember everything from what got certain snowballs rolling and how the live GMs (head CSR of Sony) handled them, and the outcomes thereof. I think I'd be a valuable addition. Let me know what you think.
