I just found out about Project 1999 today after seeing a post about it on another website. Now that the server has been going for a few years is it too late to start? I really would like to log in and manage to find a group (not much for soloing) at lower levels. I'm just concerned everyone on the server is raiding and near max level.

there's like 800 people on at primetime. There are groups everywhere. Places like Oasis and Mistmoore are overcrowded every night.

The server is top heavy, but new players join every week and tons of mid to high end folks are always rolling and levelling up alts. Lower level zones like crushbone, unrest, oasis, mistmoore etc always have groups going. Taking the initiative and forming your own groups also is a good idea, and finding duo/trio partners is a solid method too.

Plenty of options, you'll need to have patience sometimes though

there are often (not always) lower level groups you can find. i've played off an on a lot, generally whenever my buddy get's the bug, so my highest right now is a 30 war. but usually finding a party is not too bad depending on what zone.

we've even have to log off a few times because giant's in warsliks were overcamped.

Server is alive and well. Definitely more higher level players than lower, but there has been a recent surge of new players coming in.

So, welcome to the server :) Enjoy!

There is for sure groups at the lower levels.

I want to start a rogue, what character were you thinking you want to play? If we can get a cleric/druid/shaman and you end up as a tank, we can really pound some shit out.

Or if you want to roll a cleric/druid/shaman we could find a tank.

There are a decent amount of us just starting from scratch, and there are groups everywhere. Your biggest obstacle, like mine, is that 9 out of 10 lowbies you meet are twinkled alts. Makes starting out legit a big pain in the ass.

This sounds great. Exactly what I wanted to hear. Told my friend about it who also loved the game back in the day. He will roll an SK, and I will roll a Enchanter (subject to change, too many great classes to pick from). Now we just need a copy of the Titanium Edition. Might end up with many of my friends coming back for this.

Ill tell you what I told my buddy who rolled on the server ad then complained to me about the lack of groups.. sometimes you just have to do a bit of searching... /who people in your level range and ask them if they'd like a group.. it's much more effective than putting /LFG ON, or even ooc'ing that you're lfg.. I always manage to find groups when Im wiling to reach out an approach people about it

I would offer some advice that I once was told by a wise man. You may have heard of him. His name was Doug Henning. He told me, "Sadre, you have to make your own magic."

Still rings true. <salute>

Now we just need a copy of the Titanium Edition.

Here's a hint: don't pay money for it.

Play what makes you happy, but be warned SKs have a -40% xp modifier. If he goes Ogre, Iksar, or Troll that's another -15% (Ogre) and -20% (Troll and Iksar).

At -60% Xping can take a long, long time. I believe the hybrid penalties are being removed in Velious though.

this has exactly been my experience. you got to work on it, and sometimes you won't get much going, or you'll do a corpse run and barely gain experience after a couple hours.

But sometimes it's still a blast. And probably for exactly these reasons: you gotta give.

And in the end
The groups you get
are equal to
the friends
you've
met

awwwwwwww:p

If you're still looking at this thread, find a forum member named 'swish' and look in his signature. youll be really glad u did, and u can start playing tonight.

Titanium is really, really expensive nowadays, because there are so few copies left (im assuming). Its especially ridiculous considering you can DOWNLOAD THE MOST RECENT COPY oF THE GAME FROM SONY!!! for free!!

Also, what people are saying about groups is absolutely true. You have to reach out and find your own people to level with. I have gotten very few groups from having my LFG tag on or even OOC/shout lfg in zones, but I have still had tons and tons of groups because i put them together on my own. And as a result i have a large friends list, and many high level friends who are there to help me when I need it (remember to be there to help them when they need it!)

Welcome to the game again!

Im in the same boat, just found out about p99 the other day. I was skeptical at first but went through the motions and got up and running in a couple hours. So far it seems there are plenty of lower lvl toons around. Im currently lvl 5 bard on the pve server, name Singun, feel free to look me up depending on your lvl if youve started. My brother, lvl 4 monk, is awaiting an IP petition then we'll be rolling together once that happens just like the good ol days! Hope to see ya on there.
