Yet another Crashing issue..

Here's the situation. I played 1999 for a bit just under a year ago on this same computer and had no issues setting it up as instructed in the get started links. I have went through the same steps and have it running but now when I either try to enter the world/character screen it locks up(Not Responding) or if I'm lucky I can get into the game and maybe get 20 secs of UI set up before I crash out ( you have been disconnected from server). This morning I actually managed to get in game and zone back and forth from Neriak commons to Neriak Foreign Quarter before I was disconnected again.
WTH's going on? Any quick fixes from any one that had the same issues?

One more thing, was there a wipe of characters below lvl 10? I had a 9 necro and 9 shaman that are no longer on my account.

I am having a similar problem. I can get into the game just fine, but after about 3-4min my game freezes. Anyone else having this problem?
