Poll: Does PvP Exp Loss REALLY deter PvP?

Been hearing this a lot lately from 'hides in Butcherblock 12 hours a day' Ecoli as the reason for the servers woes.

I think it's bullshit, but fuck me right?

What do you guys have to say about PvP exp loss? Have you ever decided NOT to fight someone because you might lose exp?

In general it doesnt. It definitely deters me in certain situations. On other servers I have no problem going against full groups, get a few YT, and maybe take a death myself every here and there. On this server, with no YT as a reward, and being an ogre sk that fucking hates xping, I will avoid the "potentially suicidal" pvp sometimes.

I can definitely see that as an Ogre.

Mostly what prevents me from suicide into a group of people would be the corpse camping and trash talking that would ensue.

On my enchanter I don't give a fuck because I can solo back the exp super fast, on my warrior in 60 you lose like a little over a blue, I can't solo, so now I need to find a group to grind back exp with. It's pretty awful for melee.

No one wants to have to set up groups to grind EXP in level 60 as a melee just to be able to PVP. Just my two cents.

I've always just looked at it as a consequence of dying.

Maybe because I'm a druid and EXP can come easy to me... but dying a couple times for a good day of PvP seems a worthy trade. IMO.

Ya losing a little over a blue at 60 is rough. I could easily make that xp back on my dru, but yeah I agree w checkraise.. must be pretty tough for non solo classes. And yeah, kind of sucks cause i want to do at 60 is pvp and camp shit, not really do xp groups.

Not really sure how to get around this, a neat idea could be to stop losing xp on pvp death once you hit 60, just pve xp loss. I dunno, just tossin out ideas

Its ironic that Saidin considers someone a bluebie, someone who doesnt wanna spend an hour grinding PVE for each death he gets in PVP.

I "hide" in BB because i want to get this horrible grind done with.

But once i reach 60, will i even wanna deal with the amount of time asked of me to be able to PVP? Not sure im "red" enough to do all that PVE grind honestly.

Actually It took me a few days to find him in Butcherblock. Every time I zoned in, he would notice and gate our before I could find him.

I eventually got his ass though. Found him right before he gated one time, and noticed the dwarf he's been killing. I bound just a few feet away, ported in a few hours later and finally slayed him.

By the way I think Ecoli just said he's not gonna pvp because he'll delvl.

I never even think about it unless i know there's a high chance of a pVE death to eat as well.

Even then, i still go for the pvp and just loathe myself later if i take a huge xp hit.
