Looking forward to playing once my deployment is over. I'm still over a month away from being able to join in the fun but I check the forums everyday to see what's up. I played a druid and rogue on live during Kunark and Velious so I'm excited to experience it again. Think I'm going to try a mage this time around...and maybe rogue again once I can get some gear for it.

I played a monk to level 36 and I'm overseas. The best I can get is 700ms ping, but it's doable if you're willing to deal with the frustration once in a while. I would never do it again, but I'm all for playing if my character ever gets restored. If you're on a similar connection you should try it.

Good time to play..things are popping on P99 (~730 people on at the log in a minute ago).
Welcome to the server!

Be safe and soon the nostalgia will bring new levels of EQ immersion.

The internet is plenty fast but I didn't bring my laptop. My wife wanted to keep it so she could edit her photography and she pretty much gets what she wants.

Buy another one (obviously when you get back) and don't let her near it ;)

hit me up in game when you're deployment is over. I have some stuff/cash sitting around for new players like yourself.

Dont think I could survive out here without a laptop. Even working 72 hour weeks, it's pretty much the only escape you get to the real world

Perhaps you could make friends with the S6 shop (if your BN HQ is near) and borrow some VSAT time. Hardly any clouds in Afghanistan(assuming OEF) to interfere with your playtime.
When I was there we had some horrific internet service with a 500ms ping, but hey! you might be able to play some classes.
Tell them they can play your char when you are out on mission. With enough folks rotating in on EQ, you might be 60 by the time you all cycle back.

Lol, I think I'll be able to wait a few more weeks... I hope. Haven't actually heard the official word yet.

Well come back safely.
I was getting some experience one time on EQ Live a few years back and some military man said that if dragons were real they'd probably sound like A-10's. But I think he was crazy. Whatchya think?

No but there are some people that think F-22s sound like whales. I don't personally though. I just heard that comment today though so I'll have to pay closer attention.
