druid can get you to 30 pretty easy. or if the high 20's are goin slow then monk if your heals can keep him up

The why part of it is thorns, heals and regen mostly. Monk is best I think 30 and up.

Bard or Monk

druid is very good til about lvl 30, and with so many druids out there, its easy to find. monk and necro PL can work as well (so can others), just depends who is around really

...why?

Why PL a cleric? Good question.

From 14 onwards Unrest is your best friend, easy solo if you don't mind afk/med time... save your plat :/

1-20 = druid
20-30 = monk or mage, with Poison Wind Censer

anything else but bard is suboptimal

The question you should really be asking is not "what class?" but "how?" Figure out what method is more efficient for you, and from there you can figure out what is the best class to do it.

At level 9 you get Word of Pain, your first PBAE. What you should be doing is having someone pull a bunch of mobs, DS themselves (either via a normal spell or with a potion), and then you cast the AE once before everything dies and get full exp. Druid is the obvious choice, and is fine below 30 or so, but can't tank a lot of higher-level mobs as well. Shaman or Cleric might be better for high levels. Bard could work, too, but would probably be AE snaring the mobs while you nuked them all down - no DS needed.

There's bound to be other methods I'm not familiar with; this is just off the top of my head.

Bards can damage a mob down, clear it, let their PLee hit it once, and the bard can then DS tank it down. PLee doesn't need to do anything besides hit it once.

It's like druid power leveling but way better.

Yeah, but doing one mob at a time is way slower than using an AE to tag a few dozen mobs at once.

Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but damage shields don't add hate, right? So hitting the mobs could potentially cause them to switch targets. In that case you'd want the PLer to keep aggro without doing damage.. snare or some debuff is good for that.

Monk is easier by far.

druids do that well by healing themselves. bards can do it as well. At lower levels it doesnt matter bard/druid cause both can tank pretty much the entire zone.
