95% of all new computer users that are going to get windows 8 are going to press the "MAKE IT LOOK LIKE WINDOWS 7" Button when they first start the thing up or shortly after.
Make mobile more like desktop than desktop more like mobile...
WebOS > all mobile os...sadly palm and hp are retarded.
as for EQ... ill try it at work tomrrow

I've been running the developer preview for a long time and I haven't had an issue. You won't have any more of a problem getting it to run in 8 than you did in 7.

I didnt care about 8 to try any Betas or RCs that we get at work- and now we have all Pro and Enterprise avail- if 8 was like 7 the RC was better than initial release, noe that SP1 is out 7 is much better and a great OS- it was the only version of windows where the beta and RC forums where filled with alot of positive comments and creative ideas rather than QQing etc etc.
But also as you said- there should really be no change in getting it up and running in 8 vs 7... silly squares...tiles...whatever they are

Its going to take quite a bit to make me ever switch from 7. Granted I wasn't one of those guys that clung on to xp, but win7 is super solid.

Dangit I thought this said EQ Titanium on Windows 98, which is a problem I have been hoping to fix (http://www.project1999.org/forums/showthread.php?t=76160) for months :(
I am definitely hoping to play some EQ on the Surface Pro though eventually.

Been using Win8 RC for months, but the PC I use for EQ is still Win7.
Not sure why there's so much Win8 hate, really. Once you get used to it, and only use Metro for the things that Metro improves on, then it's great.

Regarding the anti-8 sentiment... I understand. I'm pretty much an MS fanboy and for the longest time I swore I would never go Windows 8. It's definitely a sort of hybrid right now and it STILL bugs me that one is forced to go straight into Metro on a desktop system.
Having said all this, I understand why they did it. I will also say that there are a lot of nice improvements under the hood. You can get to the old-style desktop UI with one keystroke. I'll get over it.
In the end, I am a developer and I have to switch to Windows 8 in order to build Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 targets. So, that's that. However, my EQ addition is so strong that I would maintain a second PC just for EQ on Windows 7 if I had too. I see now that I don't have to. Thanks for all the input (especially the helpful input :) )
