Was thinking of doing it on my computer that has Windows 8. Haven't tried it yet.

Should work fine. If you have installer issues then install it on a windows 7 machine and move over the install folder with all it's contents.

I moved over my copy of EQ from my laptop after doing a clean install to Windows 8 and it works fine (to the same laptop). I tried to do the same thing for my desktop and I'm getting memory read errors when attempting to connect to the server. I tried a clean install multiple times and it works sometimes after a restart. Kind of bummed, but at least I have my laptop install working. Not sure what caused the issues on my desktop. I will keep trying to sort it out though.

I am having this same issue, got everything set up perfect then when i try to log into the character screen it crashes, music starts playing and everything. I tried the fix from gotrocks help thread but it didnt fix it. Trying to do a fresh download and install now. we'll see if that does anything. My desktop is windows 7 and p99 works dandy, this laptop i just got is windows 8 and is having the trouble ;. has anyone found a fix for this yet? Please don't tell me install windows 7.

I have windows 8 with 6 gigs of ram and an i5 processor and was having alot of problems logging in and/or zoning but I clicked on the use one cpu check box in the launcher and it helped a ton, idk if it will for you guys but you should try it.

I got it to work, seems like fullscreen just wont happen, so play windowed=true in you eqclient file and it should work.

I've got problems like that, too, but I was having those problems with Win7 and one processor.

I had just one issue on Windows 8. The game would crash most of the time when I logged out. I had to make eqgame.exe run as Administrator in and compatibility mode to correct this.

i7 920, corsair ssd, on windows 8. no problems here at all. I didn't have to change any settings for it to work, but I do run in Windowed mode.
