I'm almost out of coffee beans and want to try something new! I've been trying to pick up a bag o' beans from a different local coffee shop every time I run out, but perhaps I should look a little further than ABQ.

Do any of your local coffee shops sell beans (online)? If so, which?

Medium roast preferred~

Blue Mountain Coffee is really good, the real blue mountin stuff from Jamaica. Most specialty coffee houses should have it, I get mine for about $40/lb near me. It's worth it, very good. This is assuming you only grind right before brewing.

My friend recently took over a local coffee place. He got really snobby about grinding and brewing equipment.

I thought it was ridiculous and all coffee tasted the same but goddammit if those cheap grocery store beans run through a burr grinder and brewed with this fancy pourover thing wasn't worlds better. More amazing when he used the expensive beans.

I guess what I am saying is if you're going to try other beans, make sure you try at least one batch run through a decent grinder and a french press or something other than auto-drip.

I had a similar revelation after I bought a grinder few years back. It's just so much better fresh than if you even grind it the day before and let it sit. World of difference is right.

I use a burr grinder and a french press. The only way to go! It's a little more 'involved', but it's certainly worth it.

Gonna give this a try. Since you're the only one who linked an actual blend and not just a coffeeshop/supplier website ~

Thx!

Also! If you're looking for a good coffee tumbler, I would HIGHLY recommend this one (http://www.starbucksstore.com/Stainless-Steel-Gradient-Tumbler%2C-12-fl-oz/011019720,default,pd.html?cgid=tumblers-and-travel-mugs)

I've had it for about two years (not in that 'seasonal' color), and it has never leaked for me. Took me forever to find something that I could take on my bicycle or scooter commute that wouldn't leak due to all the wiggling around it would experience.

I don't really like Starbucks beans, but their coffee mugs/tumblers are really great.

yea, you can find the beans just about anywhere. If you haven't tried it, might as well.

Obviously not something you just start drinking, but yakno

I beg your pardon, but espresso is the only way to go.

I recommend Lavazza Gran Filtro coffee. It's Italy's #1 coffee and has good flavor and is very, very smooth. You can find it at http://www.amazon.com/ They make a lot of espresso blends, but if you're intro drip coffee then Gran Filtro is the best they make. There is a dark roast too, but I think the original roast tastes best.

If you don't want to spend that much on coffee, Tim Horton's (rated 5 stars) is also listed on amazon and is very cheap.

Now at the grocery store I just switch between Dunkin' Donuts (all-american), Starbucks Sumatra (earthy, herbal), and Starbucks Veranda Blonde (smooth, mild).
