So has anyone found a more powerful tablet than the Asus Infinity Pad, tech spec wise?

http://www.asus.com/Tablet/Transformer_Pad/ASUS_Transformer_Pad_Infinity_TF700T/

quad core processor, 12x graphics(....wtf?), but i was dissapointed i think it only has 1gb ram, maybe 1.5.

Anyone seen something that can beast this tablet, im wanting to do VPN for league of legends or some casual PC gaming.

If you're just going to remote access, why do you care what kind of processor or RAM the tablet has? The application still runs on the computer you're remoting to.

The Transformer Infiniti's screen looks just amazing, it's the one I have. I haven't run into any issues with RAM, though I don't run 30 apps at a time like some people. I mainly use it for remote to my home PC, reading PDFs/other docs, and browsing the web.

Remote access still seems very laggy on my galaxy S3, im running on att LTE which hits about 12mbps when i run speed test. I'd say its the devices hardware slowing me down at this point.

It taxes the processor in the tablet, im sure of it, because if i remote access say, skyrim, it runs slow as FUCK on the phone, but smooth on the PC.

bump. ive tried league of legends on the galaxy s3, runs like shit, but was able to enter a game and move around like a 28k modem connection...same thing on an ipad 3....

going to try the asus infinity pad at best buy with remote view see what happens.

From the sound of it, you might be having trouble with your VPN box's upload speed. What is your service provider? Is your main box in a cloud or is it your own personal one? The hardware on your tablet seems sufficient enough as Orruar pointed out. The problem with a lot of household connections is that they provide 100Mb down, but their up speed is like 1-2Mbps which would be problematic when you want to keep 100fps. A lot of ISPs also say your up-speed is greater than it really is I find.

Also, what protocols/apps are you using to get a remote desktop on your mainbox? You might want to look into some compression options. My friend can game with his older tablet from his linux box back home but he is ridiculous with XServer.

I use comcast where i live, its like 32 down but like you said pretty terrible upload speeds. the app im using is called team viewer.

Yeah, you might want to look into running a box in a cloud or something then. Either that or seeing what deals comcast has for better upload speeds. I have never used team viewer so I know little about it sorry :(

But seeing as that is a much larger investment, I would try some of the free clouds out there first to make sure that is the major problem. I remember there being a way to get a temporary free suse box in a cloud, but I can't find a link to it. I will ask my friend about it later today though and post back about it.

Considering you're wirelessly connected to these devices you shouldn't expect perfect connection like if you were on a PC-wired connection. Think of all the data it has to send to you, even though it's remote, it's still trying to send you 30fps(or more) of data, so it's going to be slow and skip frames. It's just the unfortunate side effect of being wireless, doing a remote connection, and upload speeds. Now if you were on fiber w/ crazy speeds, I could see that increasing what you receive. But it's very taxing network wise to try to send/receive 30fps and you receive it as is. I couldn't even do EQ from a wired PC years ago because it would skip frames too much to be anywhere useful. Refresh was horrid and couldn't really play that way.

As others have pointed out, that lag is mostly caused by latency. I suppose if it's very laggy, it might be something else on top of that, but it's almost certainly not your tablet hardware.
