I was watching the Daily Show last night and DL Hughley said the following:
"The dinosaur had the ice age, and the education age is having a similar impact on young brothers."
Can anyone explain what he was trying to say?

Ignoring the fact that "the ice age" wasn't what killed the dinosaurs, I believe he is saying that the black families / kids of America are not putting the emphasis on education that they need to. So in this 'age of education' he is afraid that african americans will be left behind.
There was a pbs interview where he explained it a little better...
I think not just even from an apparatus, but in our homes we don’t value [education] like we used to. We just don’t. If you talk cool, like if you talk cool, you have more girls. But if you talk cool, you probably aren’t going to school, you probably aren’t doing the things that you need to do to kind of have a life after this small – a small segment of your life is cool.
We don’t value education. We don’t place a premium on it. The kids that don’t get one suffer for the rest of their lives, and I think it’s as much incumbent on us as it is asking for a bureaucracy to do something.

Ah, the context of the interview seemed more hopeful for the future, so I thought he was referring to the 'education age' as some thing that was coming soon. It seems like a backwards term to refer to the 'education age' when talking about lack of education.
And it's rather ironic to talk about a lack of education after implying the dinosaurs were killed by an ice age. Maybe he was trying to punctuate the need for education.
