Started up playing EQemu on the Scars of Amerous server for some reason... it was terrible beyond belief. Then one day Project 1999 showed up on the server select screen.

My old server (Tholuxe) still chats amongst each other in little bits. Someone mentioned this was going on. I'd always thought it was a pipe dream that would never happen what with all the delays and SOE shutdowns, so I had forgotten about it until they said it was real and working.

I found out last summer when I saw p1999 on the server list for eqemu. I was bored and wanted my eq fix. Than I was like woah! a server that only goes up to velious that is what I want!!

I than made videos and youtube'd them. I than told eqclassic forums but someone saw my post on eqclassic forums and spammed all the members mailboxes with info about the server : )

The project itself I heard about from TTH, although the EMU some old guild mates had told me about it when it first came out two years ago. I'm glad I decided to jump on board.

It was EQ originaly that brought me and my sons together as hardcore gamers. So I decided to try it. Since then I have dumped my WoW account and been playing only P1999.

Believe it or not I heard about it from a friend I had on a warcraft emulator. We got to talking about the good old days of MMOs and he told me about project1999.....so here I am.

YouTube for me. I was watching old EverQuest videos and I saw in the comment section people chatting about Project 1999. I thought it was some sort of scam or trojan-infested site so I never went. A few months later I went to another video where the guy was uploading Project 1999 footage (of his character) and was talking about his experiences. Thought I would give it a try and that's about it.

After the hack I cancelled my account and started playing here not long after

I was researching the Spirit Shroud ops for EQEmu when Project 1999 was announced. Obviously, I never finished the work on Spirit Shrouds, although I was able to decode some of the ops for it. (Never found the magic one that actually transformed you.) :P Can't remember why I stopped playing P99 back then, but I was going through some tough times. A RL friend started telling me about P99 and that they were playing it just recently, so I loaded up my chars again and am having a blast.

I wanted to check how the other classic eq project was doing, and I noticed it still hasnt gone further. So I checked google if there is anything similar and found p99. :)
I love it, people are as nice (often even nicer) as in the classic days and I am addicted again.
I just wish I would have found it sooner to experience it again without Kunark. Still, I am excited for Velious and Luclin.

Played alot of emu since late 2007 (quit live during PoR) actually heard about it from the emu server listing and tried it out in late 2009, 99 was the first place I camped the Oasis Crocs and killed Lockjaw lol
