24. Series Finale sucked.

Better ending: Chloe sniffs around, asks "Do you guys smell something?" Fade to dead guy still crumpled up inside that wall panel for like 10 hours ago.

Doesn't he end up going back to his planet or something? I seem to remember watching that as a kid.. I can remember there being a ship involved and it was winter and the dad and Alf had a heart to heart. I was also like 6, so I could be way off.

I agree Seinfeld was pretty lame. I didn't really like the Soprano's ended at first, but I think that was mostly that I was angry the show was ending... now I think it was pretty cool.

He missed his ship and he gets surrounded by men in black.

Same, I loved his pantomime firing of a gun (that was the ending right if I recall) and then dieing. It was very fitting for him. I'm also just a sucker for anything that ends in the main character sacrificing themselves/dieing.

Speaking of anime endings, I love NGE right until the final two episodes that I watched once and refuse to ever watch again.

Pfft, NGE was pseudo religious pretentious bullshit :p Last 2 episodes were a joke, fans complained so they made a movie in which everyone dies...

Rahxephon is a much better series with better animation, music, and characters...

Well that goes without saying when a giant robot dies and a big beam of light in the shape of a cross shoots towards the sky haha. It's funny you say better music, because one of the things I liked most about NGE was the background sounds not music in particular, like the silence and (I think) sounds of power lines that took up two minutes or so during one ep, I loved that. I also realize how many people don't like NGE and I can see where they come from, it is my cup of tea though heh. I also like Trigun, man I like some mediocre anime...

I really enjoyed the Lost ending, I thought it was very good and true to what the series was about - characters. I also liked The Sopranos ending and people give David Chase a lot of guff for the way that ended. Viewers often make claims about wanting answers and not enough being tied up or explained as major detractions for endings(film and television). While I agree somewhat that sometimes it is either a lack of creativity or laziness on the writers behalf if they leave things unanswered, people need to also appreciate the mystery and use their own imagination to take enjoyment from unresolved story lines.

JJ Abrams had an amazing article in regards to this a few years ago making a metaphor to a box. Anything could be in that box, and the great thing about it is we can use our imaginations to fill in the blanks to leave us with personal answers that, for me at least, provide a great satisfaction through mystery. Or a writer could say "there is a frog in the box", that's it case closed mystery over, no limitless possibilities with the imagination. Viewers want entertainment to bend to their whims and provide answers, when really, would you be happier with a concrete answer or an open possibility/mystery. Lost has become a huge catalyst for this argument and I for one am a major proponent of less answers more mystery, I love using my imagination.

As an aside - How many of you had your enjoyment of the Star Wars universe increased after the mysterious/mystical Force was explained as a midichlorian count. Sorry I'm so long-winded.

Well lets just say that I'm sure that JJ Abrams one of the original writers of lost wouldn’t have done such a cop out ending to lost. The writing was plain ass lazy. Now his new show Fringe is awesome also, the guy is an awesome writer and what he touches is gold. Lost really "lost" its heart when they lost him. See what I did there

Sopranos was hands down the worst final episode ever.

Dude the Sopanos finale was awesome, you're fucking nuts.

The answer to this question is L O S T, /thread. Anyone who was watching that show for the characters and not the mysteries/mythology of the island was a fucking tool. And then they pull this bullshit ending out of their ass to cater to those idiots who only watched to find out who would end up with Kate. Who the fuck gives a shit? Not anyone with half an ounce of intelligence.

Also fail for answering Evangelion. One of the greatest endings of all time. I'm sorry you didn't understand it.
