So, i've finished my epic, however i recently looted another tear in hate to keep it from rotting with the hopes of helping a guildie complete their epic. I know you lose faction when you complete the quest yourself though so im curious how much grinding i will have to do to max my faction again so i can turn in the tear and guildie can get his epic. Has anyone done this before, any idea of how many CoM book turnins im looking at to max faction again?

you can gather the notes in City of mist and do those turn ins i think it takes roughly 10 + turn ins to max it out again.

or you can do the first part over and over again with bondl felligan and the tiny gem takes about 60 of those turn ins to max it out.

Seriously? So you basically have to start your faction over completely again?

Handing in for your epic resets your TrueSpirit faction, sadly :(

yeah, i remember back in the day lots of people would just max truespirit faction with quest turn ins before kunark even came out, resetting is a good idea, so people dont just do the whole mq epics thing, unless you're a rogue, i hate rogues.

Doesn't really stop MQ, once i max it again i can just keep collecting tears and MQing them since i will never lose my faction again. Its just a pain in the ass for no reason.

Also doesn't make sense logically, i got my epic so now the spirits are indifferent to me again? What?

The spirits don't approve of other people being rewarded without putting in much effort of their own. Wtf doesn't make in-character sense about that?

The only thing epic about the Shaman epic quest is the amount of faction required. They just carried that over for those that would MQ as well.

This is based on live, where I've done the shaman epic a few times.

If you do the prior steps (easy), it takes about 3 or 4 woe/envy turn ins to max out. I don't know why the books were suggested, since that was one of the main things you wanted to skip when factioning. Maybe the courier is common on P99, but it could take days to get it to spawn on live.

There's really nothing "epic" at all about the shaman epic, including the quest and the reward.

Woe/envy should easily be the fastest route, only taking a few hours to max.

I dunno maybe the fact that i completed an "epic" quest, and after i completed it the spirits con indifferent to me like they have no recollection of what ive done. That little part.

Also, shaman epic is absolutely amazing for the clicky when soloing, what are you smoking Reiker.

It's okay, not amazing. Long cast time, takes a long time for the damage to become semi-decent. Mana cost is irrelevant.
