Ninja Howling Stones Patch

Was the mobs inside howling stones kos even if you had VS faction on live? I spent days getting HS faction and now it's useless.

Yes, it was never possible to walk around freely with VS faction in HS on live.

Anyone remember the bug on live that caused faction with VS to flip around when hunting in this zone?

ie: if you were max KoS to VS and killed a mob here you would flip over to Warmly again and destroy your faction again as you continued to kill things.

There is no "HS faction" that you can raise. Mobs in HS give negative faction hits for VS when killed, but they're on a different, always-KoS faction.

at least the bile golems no longer see sneak/hide so you can actually CR in there unless that was done by mistake.

EQ atlas and Alla's are classic. I Remember having printouts of both while i was in High school which i graduated 2001.

Lol, yah this was great. On Live I knew more people that got an OT hammer through this process than doing the whip quest or killing dragons.

In addition to what Lasertag said, you can raise VS faction by killing the elves in VP, Gore, Talendor and I think Trak. There are not many mobs in the game that give the faction but if you would like to travel around the OT fort and don't mind not being able to kill in Kaesora, KC or HS this will help you.

This would be the old school way of getting your OT Hammer without Puppet Strings after they patched the faction bug. And the mob that gives the OT hammer should be way more resistant than he is on P99. I remember mass debuffs being required on EQMac when we did it and that was from a lvl 65 doing the charming.
