I spent all night last night trying to resolve this issue, but i r cmptr dum. So obviously eq doesn't like my screen resolution (1440x900), so I had to go into the compatibility settings in the eq shortcut (just like the eqemu FAQ says to do) and switch it to an earlier windows. I chose xp (running vista).
eq starts and runs great, for a while... Then I run into what is apparently an issue with having a dual core processor where I start sliding around and jumping all over the place etc, while in game. Now the FAQ says to change the target of the link to some command prompt thing, fine I did that.
Here is the problem: when I change the target of the shortcut, I can no longer change the settings in the compatibility tab. The box says something about the target being a vista program, so I can't change the compatibility to an earlier windows edition.
So far I have run into almost every single problem the FAQ outlines... I have gone through and fixed almost all of them in accordance with searches and the FAQ, but these two seem to conflict? I'm sure Its an easy fix, but like I said... i r cmptr dum.
Any help would be appreciated.
Oh, and that whole eqclient.ini crap... I have no idea wtf any of that means.
