Anyone else having problems with the EQEmu launcher? Currently stating going through these lines over and over:
"Loading serverlist...
Error while retrieving newest version.
Could not reach webserver. Trying again in 10 seconds.
Loading serverlist..."
Over and over...

It's OK now.
Well, it was. Got the server list then got that message again. It was enough for me to log in though.

At least I'm not alone, I've had no respite like you though Grumble. Just that message over and over and over.

I have never used any sort of launcher to connect to eqemu. You can just manually replace the files.
There should be a link located at the top of every patch notes thread with the files necessary for connecting to p99.
When there is a patch, I download the .zip file from patch notes thread, replace what I need, and log in.
The patcher, as useful as it may be, can be bypassed if needed.
Notes:
UAC turned off.
Windows 7 64 bit
Dual core

I am having the same issues.
Even if I bypass the patcher and just click the icon for EQ itself, I get an instant "could not establish connection" error.

http://www.project1999.org/forums/showthread.php?t=76962 (latest patch notes thread)
At the top of that thread, there is:
This patch contains new files. Please obtain the latest EQChanges V23 (http://www.project1999.org/files/eqchangesv23.zip) from the setup guide, or obtain the latest files via the EQEmu Launcher (http://www.moestaverne.com/eqemulauncher122.zip).
If you click the eqchangesv23 link, you should get a download option for eqchangesv23.zip. Download it. Extract it. Look at files.
Manually replace whatever files are necessary (making backups of the ones you remove in case you don't know what you're doing).
Hope that helps.

I had this issue with my last PC, but not my new one.
In the bottom left of EQemu, what version does it say you guys have that are encountering problems?

Odd. Restarted my PC and it's working fine now.
Same. Didn't expect this to solve it since I experienced the problem 20 min after booting up my laptop (so it was JUST 'restarted'). Worked though.

I am having the same problem. Blaaaaaaaaaaah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I swear sometimes the EQEmuLauncher is more trouble than its worth. And I can't believe all the information regarding setting up P99 without the Launcher has been removed...
Here goes:
1) Default install of EQ: Titanium (other clients will NOT work). Copy/pasting the EQ folder from another install works just fine here. (For consistency, I'm going to assume you installed EQ to C:\Everquest so that the eqgame.exe path is C:\Everquest\eqgame.exe.)
2) Right-click on the eqgame.exe icon within your everquest folder, select Create Shortcut.
3) Right-click on the Shortcut to eqgame.exe you created in step (2). Select Properties.
4) In the Properties menu that appears, edit the target line to say "C:\EverQuest\eqgame.exe" patchme. The quotes are only needed around the destination string if it contains spaces. Select Apply and then OK to close the properties box.
5) Open the C:\Everquest\eqhost.txt file in the text editor of your choice.
6) Delete whatever is in the eqhost.txt file and replace it with the following two lines:
[LoginServer]
Host=login.eqemulator.net:5998
7) Save and close the eqhost.txt file.
8) Download the latest eqchangesvXX.zip file from the patch notes. As of this post, we are on v28, found . http://www.project1999.org/files/eqchangesv28.zip if this post is out of date, just update "28" with the current number)
9) Extract the eqchangesvXX.zip file into the C:\Everquest directory, overwriting any files it asks for.
10) Within the C:\Everquest directory, delete the following files to allow these updated zones to function properly on P99:
arena.eqg
arena_EnvironmentEmitters.txt
lavastorm.eqg
nektulos.eqg
Nektulos_EnvironmentEmitters.txt
11) Log into the server with the account you created at EQEmulator.org (http://www.eqemulator.org/).
12) Select Project1999: The Ruins of Kunark from the server list.
13) Enjoy playing on P99.
