View Full Version : Camera jerkiness

It seems to coincide with spell effects or lightning. If I'm moving the camera all of a sudden it'll flip around to another direction instantly. Anyone having the same problem or know how to fix it?

Edit: Btw I'm running Win 7 64 bit on an Intel e6600 dual core processor. Maybe a dual core problem?

Have you tried changing your frame rate to 60 in the display options?

Yup, to no avail.

I tried restricting windows to using 1 processor and it actually made it worse. It definitely seems like the spell effects make the game skip a beat, but obviously my computer is fast enough to run EQ! I can't imagine what would cause graphics stuttering on such an old game.

I noticed this as well. It doesn't happen often and it isn't so bad that it ruins my ability to play, but it is a little annoying.

I didn't notice it coinciding with spell effects though. I had it happen in the middle of EC with nobody else around that I could see.

I'm running Vista 64 with an i7 920. Also have my framerate set to 60.

This happens when people zone in your zone. If youre using mouse view your view will flip like 180 degrees.

Would love a fix to this

I notice when people come into zone, but otherwise, this problem goes away completely when all particle effects are turned off.

I have this problem on my 1 laptop with qx9300 intel processor. Yet no issue on my other laptop with an i7. Processor issue perhaps.

I'm not on a laptop

i5 2500k
560Ti
16GB Ram

Spell effects all off, even using the command /spelleffects or whatever. That reduces it, but it's not gone 100%.

1 thing I may think it is, is latency. I used to be on a wired connection, and I had the problem at first a year or so ago. But it went away. Now I'm wireless but I don't have issues with any other games via internet.

FPS set to 50, 60, etc, no change.

I turned off my Dolby Surround app from Taskbar. Seems to have helped but nothing solid, it still froze every couple seconds in Ecom.

Video driver is up to date. I guess next is check Audio drivers for Mobo.

One last thing I want to try is since I reinstalled I don't have the high-res textures installed, so I'm going to re-install those once they finish downloading.

Aside from those things, maybe it's because I have it installed sort of deep into a HDD, but that really shouldn't effect it. If spells get cast, it gives a freeze. So what is happening that it's causing my game to freeze from spells. My Acer netbook doesn't freeze and it's probably 1/8th as powerful as my desktop.

Just started experiencing this same problem, thought I would necro the thread to see if anyone came across a solution.
