Bard Identify Nonexistent

I'm sorry if it's been addressed before - I've searched the forums but cannot find this topic in it.

The Bard song Lyssa's Cataloging Libretto does not appear to be in game, although other casters' identifies are.

It's supposed to appear for sale from Altrusan Belstince in the Erudin Library, I believe.

It turns out to be a very useful, even necessary, song on occasion, as many items appear to have the same name but, when identified, reveal their more particular purposes (i.e. Rune of the One Eye, Illegible Scroll, etc.)

Yeah I lol'd at this missing spell because it was so worthless. Or so I thought.

Then I did my lambent quests and realized I needed it.

Not too familiar with lambent quests. How did all the other bards on the server that have a full set of lambent complete it without that song?

Oh wow, I thought the song just wasn't classic, and so that's what I told people who asked about it. Whoops.

Definitely classic. Chanters also have the identify ability.

There are many quests from way back in the day that probably would never have been solved had it not been for the identify spell.

The usefulness of it has been lost of course because now all these quests are posted all over the web. But once upon a time You actually had to have a guild bard or enchanter identify random items and piece together the puzzles that were the classic EQ quests.

It's shame to know that we will never see those days again.

I noticed this and asked about it as was told it wasn't classic, though I could have sworn I had seen it sold previously (false memory maybe). Anyways, the runes are dropped by specific cyclops so as long as you keep them organized you know which is which without identifying them.

No, we all knew about it. But we also knew that it didn't do anything that was required. There are no truly "unidentified" items in p99 as far as I know.

Yeah I ended up mixing up 2 runes that had the same name but not the same if you identify them. If you keep them separated it will be OK to do turn in.

What Deric said. We have bard meetings every now and again and this was brought up I think 2 months ago... None of us cared back then, we just wanted to be able to twist correctly.

However, I appreciate you taking the time to get this fixed, as this will help a ton in the future.
