Is this possible? Over the Christmas holiday my baby boy decided to pick up my laptop and slam it on the ground, destroying the hard disk. I had an older laptop that a friend of mine (a strung out tweaker) tried to fix and screwed one of the longer screws into a hole where a short screw was supposed to be and destroyed the motherboard. So I took the hard drive out of the older laptop and put it in the one my son broke. I tried to install some various cracked windows discs but couldn't get any of them to work. (I'm not very computerwizzy). Anyways, a buddy of mine installed UBuntu on it just so my girlfriend would be able to use it for Facebook, pictures, ect. I was wondering if I could somehow install EQ on that laptop and just use it for P99 (its pretty much the only thing I do on computers), so my girlfriend could use our new laptop for downloading movies, music, organizing our photos, school, ect.

I've heard that there is some kind of windows "shadow" or something that can be used?

Please help!

Absolutely possible. You'll want to check out the Wine project: http://www.winehq.org/download/ubuntu/
