Hey guys. First off I want to thank you for taking the time to read my thread. Due to real life I had to postpone getting started on P99 a while back and have realized that I still have not lost my love for the game of Everquest. So I figured I would just let everyone know that I have plans to come back and try my hardest to become a valued member of the community and make some new friends this time around.
So basically as I do whenever I am starting out from scratch, I am looking to you guys for suggestions and any help I can possibly get. So let me lay out my plans and my goals here to let you all know what I want to get out of this game.
My main goal is to eventually play a warrior as my main. I have done a lot of research and realize that playing a warrior or most any tank class for that matter makes you extremely gear dependent which means you need to have plat to gear one up satisfactorily. So for that reason I think it would be in my best interest to maybe forgo a tank as my first character and to roll a caster that I can play to high enough level that I can farm enough plat to buy my warrior a set of gear.
So I basically am looking for whatever help I can get in the form of friends, groups, newbie items or maybe some start up plat if possible. I really don't like to ask for too much help, but from past experiences on live I have realized how much easier the first 20 levels or so can be with a little bit of platinum to start. So if anyone was willing to take me under their wing and possibly help me get started it would really mean a lot to me. I would also be willing to pay back whatever possible small loan I could get or give back any loaned newbie items when I outgrow them, but if that doesn't happen I am totally fine with finding a way to grind out my first couple weeks the hard way.
Most of all at the top of the list, I just hope to meet some cool people and have a good time while I am at it. I will be creating a character most likely in the next day or so, if not, definitely Friday will be the day that I start. I figured it would be worth it to post a thread first to see if I can get a head start instead of just creating my character and not knowing anybody at all, as I said the kind people that have helped me in the past always made a huge difference in my playing experience.
So after I level up a first character and have enough plat to finance my warrior, then my end game goal is to hopefully end up tanking for one of the premier guilds on the server.
Everquest and tanking has always been a part of my DNA, nerdy as it is. When other kids at school were talking about growing up to be a rock star or some Hollywood celebrity, I was going to bed at night hoping to one day be a skilled enough gamer to be main tanking Everquest endgame for whatever guild would believe in me.
Nerdiest story I am sure a lot of you have heard in a while I am sure, so I expect the flames and trolls. Luckily for me a hard life and negative people have not taken away my love for what I see as the greatest game of all time.
Well that is basically it. Thank you for whoever took the time to read my post and I hope to meet some of you this weekend. Also, remember not to ever lose your love for this amazing game, no matter what! I hope to meet some of you awesome people soon. Have a great day / evening everyone.
