Okay so I am after another wurmslayer ( bought my first one ) and I want another purely for old times sake back when I thought dual wielding them was actually good. I wandered through BW and saw Gylton up so snagged him real quick and got his scale. This pushed me to research Azdalin and it seems his PH is Gullerback.
I read a lot about Gylton and some people saying he was hard on allakhazam but doable. I killed him np so thought that all the Gullerback comments were BS upon engaging him I realise haha that was a dumb idea considering I was a druid.
So back to my question anyway, what is the best way to go about downing him and hopefully seeing Az pop out? The guy is a serious tank he resisted literally every spell I threw... I went oom casting aswell lol.
Melee, man. The monkey is hell for casters. Get a pet monk or something for that fight.

Gylton and his PH are pushovers, you can get that scale in no time.
Tektite is an easy turnin if you have sneak, no faction work needed.
Azdalin himself is also an easy kill, but his PH, Gullerback, is no easy kill.
Even at L57, Gullerback resisted 75+% of bard snares/fears. Sometimes, you will get lucky and he'll only be L50, and therefore won't summon. But do not count on this, as its rare. There are many Gullerbacks around the zone, I believe only the one near the Western crater is the PH for Azdalin. The safest bet is to just melee him down and take the hits. But maybe with a malo and/or tash, fear/snare will land.
Don't forget to hail Sir Hobble for the final turnin. The information on the P99 wiki for his location and spawn time are correct. Harmony Sir Hobble and everything around him and he'll survive until the Squire shows up.

He was really hard to kill. Had to have a druid kite him around while I attacked him and it took like 30 minutes it seemed. I think there is an easier version of Gullerback and a harder version if I remember correctly.

The higher level Gullerback is the placeholder for Azdalin. He roams around the crater near the Giant Fort. He will resist just about every single spell you throw at him, and he'll summon you once he takes 2% damage. If he doesn't summon, then you got one of the other Gullerbacks in BW that isn't Azdalin's placeholder.
He's also the strongest creature in the zone as far as I know, and he'll rip apart any other mob you would use as a charmed pet.
If you have a group you can kill Gullerback pretty consistently to get Azdalin to spawn. The respawn time is like 6-8 minutes between kills, so it isn't that bad. The wiki says there's a 5% chance of Azdalin, but it feels more like 25-40% chance.

Get a necro with some skill and gullerback will die easily.
Mobs can't summon you when feared. Gullerback is a pretty big pushover if done right.

Had a couple of fights with Gullerback, some versions summon, some don't, probably dependent on the level of the spawn. I've encountered him easily snareable and on other occassions appearing to be 100% MR immune. Not sure if that started with a patch or just how some of his spawns have always been.
