I remember when PCs used to 'push' NPCs when meleeing. Pets did the same thing, maybe worse than PCs. You had to position pets/PC's correctly or corner mobs.

this was removed so that raid target mobs couldn't be pushed into areas that would make them an easy kill

EDIT: disregard the above since I probably read something wrong someplace, but I can't find it now when I do a search

Pretty sure that is completely incorrect bionic. At least for P1999, it just wasn't working correctly or something so it was taken out until it can be worked on some more. Currently, NPC melee has a base chance to interrupt your spells to make up for the lack of motion interrupts.

Heh it was more than that. Pets pushed, players pushed, arrows pushed and so did spells, it's what made the PoFire god so much fun. You had to have the casters all evenly facing certain directions away from the mob in order to keep the mob in place at max AE range (to counteract the melee's arrowing forward) so you didn't wipe the raid on the Deadly AE he cast. Almost everything in the game had a knockback directional effect until 3-4 years ago when any semblance of high quality skill went out the window and zerging became the new "elite raiding" skill.

Didn't know pushing wasn't in game. That will make ToV much less fun. =/

IIRC only melee has lost its push on here. As a tank, I still notice push from spells, mainly stuns - they push a lot.

True, correctly being able to manage push on a mob that cannot be cornered is a raid skill and in a lot of old cases, part of the fight. I'd like to see pushback effects on melee, pets, arrows(throwing daggers!) and spells come into the game if it is not already.

WTF theres no pushing? If this can be fixed please do, its a larger part of raiding. I can understand its an EMU server and pusing into a wall could be bad but it its fixable with little issues please re add this.

Correct, for example,

Druid level 3 spell whirling wind has a push rating of 2.

Ykesha effect from the SSOY has a rating of 1.
http://lucy.allakhazam.com/spell.html?id=945

Cleric Force spell, pushback of 3.
http://lucy.allakhazam.com/spell.html?id=124

Odd they took the pushback out of the game but left the raw data in place on lucy.

If it's melee only like he says, it's probably the hardest of them all to code, it's probably a push effect of like .001 per swing with other math numbers for different kinds of attacks (such as bash etc).

I know a 2handed weapon had a slightly more effective push than a 1 hander. We use to use "2 planes" in my guild, evenly split the melee on either side to prevent it from going 1 way or another.

Working as intended now?

Any specific issues with push?

wow that's awesome if you really did implement push!

Push by PC's on NPC's seems fine.
Push by NPC's on PC's needs work (last I checked, it didn't exist on P1999?)

Push is terribad :/. On live it is quite possibly the most annoying mechanic ever. But yes it is classic.

I think this was added last week. Definitely getting pushed by NPC's now. Seems fairly accurate to me but may need a little more testing with higher HP raid mobs that flurry/quad once Velious is released.

Perhaps someone could test on the Mac server and compare to P99? (No Mac here ;/)

The biggest issue with push that will become extremely important in velious is that you can push mobs into walls. At present with 32k hp max it isn't such a huge deal but in future it will be when you try to put your back in a corner for say Avatar of War and your raid pushes it through you and then the wall.

Edit: Even now PCs can get summoned into walls by NPCs where it basically becomes impossible to get them out, once something with a large hitbox starts summoning you can't distance it fast enough before the ability to summon refreshes.
