Two scenarios one for sub-50 and one for over level 50.

In either case is the TStaff worth the big price difference? And if so is it because of the weapon speed or the proc? I'm a noob when it comes to understanding melee weapon mechanics.

if you can afford it, get a t-staff and never look back.

I get that it's better. Can someone explain why it's *that* much better? Damage ratios are pretty much identical.

Tstaff is amazing for the proc. It is also faster, which means it parses more consistently. Pre-50 it's not as big of a deal. IFS hits hard, but it's less consistent. A few misses in a fight, and your dps will drop. Does that make sense?

T-Staff proc is the tits. Random length stun, with DD, that procs often. Also lower delay means more hits. Higher delay means fewer swings, and when those swings are missed, you're not doing damage.

Pre-50, even after all the damage caps are off, a tstaff will still parse slightly better but yes, the price is all about post-50 and the proc. If you're twinking a monk and can't afford a tstaff right away it's no big deal, but if you can you might as well get one cause it's the best droppable 2HB available once you're out of damage cap land and really something even epic monks should keep handy for the proc. IFS or better yet a Peacebringer are both good stand-ins until you can afford/use one.

IFS weighs a lot less, so I'd honestly use that until 50.

i always prefer peacebringer 28/30 on monk alts same price as IFS w/ really similair ratio to Tstaff 29/30
best 2hb 20-50 is RFS if I recall then post 50 it sucks cause its too fast for good bonus

Also lower delay means more hits. Higher delay means fewer swings, and when those swings are missed, you're not doing damage.

Tstaff is better for the proc, this however is entirely irrelevant. It all averages out.
