Updates:
06/24/14 - Removed the XML data that showed the target con in the target window, this patch will remove the small black box you were seeing.
11/06/12 - Added newer, thinner buff windows as standard. Added no text buff windows and old style wide buff windows as extra downloads.
10/14/11 - Removed SoF boxset version.
04/25/11 - Set classic icons as default.
08/22/10 - Added a SoF boxset version.
07/22/10 - Small changes to code, made changes to the buff windows.
07/12/10 - added an extra option icon set. Fixed the WHO button on the Actions window instead of the non functioning FIND.
07/09/10 - Changed some of the spell icons.
07/08/10 - Fixed the resist icons in the player window. These will change depending on which set of graphic files you use for your spell icons.
07/05/10 - Updated for the new UI changes. Make sure that you delete the old version of this UI completely to stop any errors you may have.
05/26/10 - Updated the Inventory window to hide the unnecessary tab boxes. Removed the EQ Button from showing on screen.
05/24/10 - Fix spell icons to show 'classic era' data but with modern icons. If you prefer the 'classic look' icons just download the optional file on page 1 and overwrite the existing files.
05/21/10 - Fixed the old pet buff issue that I forgot to finish, you should now be able to use all of the pet buttons. Removed the 'Loot All' button from the loot window. Fixed the bank window to classic look.

Great work. Just one question in the previous release the pet window wasn't line up correctly? The pet command buttons were off center and I could only use /pet attack.
I'm at work so i don't have a screen shot as proof.

OK I fixed the pet window issue, test it and give me feedback as needed please.
I run windowed at 1680x1050 on a 1920x1200 24" Samsung T240HD 24" monitor.

You can just delete the following files from the UI folder and it will load the defaults:

LOVE this UI. There is one suggestion that i have though.
Where it says Mana on the thing, instead of a just a static number, could it be X/X?
So for ex: 1985/2550 M

Is there a way I can edit the playerwindow so I can match the now empty resist icon boxes (since I use the classic ones) with one of the classic icons? Like the flame one to represent fire resist, a snowflake for cold and so on.

OK, I found out why the icons disappear when using the standard default icons - the icons alpha channels are not set right in default. I'm going to hunt around for the right set of tga files and suggest them as a fix.

I replaced the 'new' spell files with the 'old' ones - now in the player window the resist icons all look the same (the yellow shield icon). Is this intended or should the resist icons look different?

Its intended because the old spells are limited to only 23 icons to choose from. Classic is well, classic.

How do I get the row of EQ option buttons to appear on the top-middle of the screen?
What is the use of the buttons on the right side of the screen going from the top of the screen down to almost your book/spell hotbar? I only have 6 appearing on my screen, howd you get more to appear?

They are opened with CTRL W. These will be an option download in the full UI release.

The buttons are hot keys - so you don't have to open your inventory window to use them. You should see Primary, sec, ranged, ammo and the 8 inventory slots. If you don;t then you may need to delete some info from your ini file [inventory] and let it rebuild the setting.

There's a keyboard shortcut to turn on/off the latency meter. Can't remember what it is at the moment, but if you hit Alt+O in-game that will bring up the options. Go to the tab for keybindings and select UI from the drop-down box and it will show you a list of keyboard shortcuts. Latency meter is somewhere in there.
Be aware that the latency meter always displays in the top left of the screen. I've yet to find a way to move it.

I'm wanting to use large sewing kits as storage, but when I open them I get a huge tradeskill window and a failure to load some associated file. Is that part of the client, or is that something that can be fixed with the UI? Anybody know?

Options > Open Tradeskill with Crtl Right Click - disable this.

I was wondering if it was possible to alter the order in which your primary, secondary, ranged, and ammo slots were arranged. Or if possible to hide the ranged and ammo slots all together. I switch weapons a lot on my bard and it would be so much more convenient if my mouse did not have to travel as far from the primary slot to the nearest inventory slot. Let me know if you have any ideas or how hard it would be to do.

The layout is automatically saved in a seperate file (forgot the name) which is not contained in the specific UI folder.

Curious, I tried to load this last night, and the buff and song window both disappeared when I loaded the skin.
Any ideas, I am going to try and re-download the file again tonight and try over, but other than that I QQ'd because it wasn't working.

Alt + W will bring up a bar allowing you to toggle show/hide a bunch of windows
Other than that hit Alt + O and look at the key bindings under UI for the command to hide/show
Just wanted to say I really love the UI. I'm really picky when it comes to things like custom UIs, but I liked the way Vert looked. Thinking it would be helpful to use on my Wizard because of the mana count, I d/l'ed it and was an instant convert. I now use Vert UI on all my characters.

Yeah I actually set them to just a plain shield when i first came to p99 due to the limited amount of icons available. I will be looking to update these icons to be the right type over the next week or so.

I downloaded your Luclin set and updated my us_spells.txt from the P99 main site. The resist icons on the UI are now correct, but all my spell icons are off again.

Hey Savok, I tried to use the left-aligned buff windows from your concerthall page, but it was just a total mess, and beyond my ability to duct-tape. Do you happen to have one available that works for p1999?

The Live buff windows use a tile code that allows them to be placed in a certain way on screen, unfortunately this code post dates Titanium.
Is it possible to still do it though? yes. Will I do it? no.
The only easy way of having the buffs with right side text is to have the whole button cross the buff window which I personally hate. I said easy because there was a way of doing it by putting buffs into their own frame and placing them manually in the main window (which I had done once) but the code I had has long gone and I really don't want to do it again.

Find the red highlighted line and change it to true from false to see the fill line. You can do this for any gauge you want - personally with percentage numbers I feel they are unnecessary.

Delete the EQUI_CastingWindow.xml file from the vert folder and it will load the floating spell cast window from default (but it will still show on the target window).

I tried following that but anytime I replace the XML files from 1a. (Optional) it causes the vert ui to default back to the velious UI which I don't want.. I want to keep vert, but with the different icon set and when I replace the spells0x/gemicons0x it causes my spell bar to look messed up.

Not on the Titanium release (these only came with SoF expansion iirc). Even if they were there I'm sure the devs would of blocked them.

Easy fix for the misspelling. Just go to the EQUI_Inventory.xml file and open in your favorite text editor. Look for this section (quite a ways down):

I can't seem to find the buff windows with the vert UI. I see a bar with 12 numbered small boxes but no buff icons. I also don't see the songs window.

Ever since the last patch ( after i updated my files ) I have been having issues with this UI saying that the XML files are not compatible with your current version of EQ.

I use this and have no such errors. Did you customize anything inside the folder this UI is in? Add/change/remove anything?

Did you follow the instructions to modify the default UI folder? Because if a file doesn't exist in the custom UI (vert) then it loads them from the default.

I probably missed it, but my other UI ( Quartz 2 ) Loads perfectly fine, so its obviously a problem with this particular UI, I just don't know what I need to do to fix it.

At the top right of the group window there are 3 boxes, ignore the LFG box. The 2 top right boxes/buttons will either disappear, turn into a check or X box, or show a minus depending on whether your inviting, accepting, declining or leaving a group.
- Leave a group
+ invite to your group
Checkmark; accept invitation
X decline invitation
CTRL I and CTL D are the standard macro keys for accepting/inviting and for declining/removing from a group.
My computer is running windows 7, and I have trouble finding a lot of things, especially the screenshots folder and such.
At least this part is a pretty easy fix - when you installed, your EQ files are likely owned by someone other than you. As such, when you go to take a screenshot, Windows rejects EQ's request to access and create the file/folder.
To fix it, just go into your EQ folder (C:\Program Files\Sony\Everquest by default with the Ti client) and make a new folder called "screenshots" - without the quotes, of course. Right-click on the folder, choose Properties->Security, then find your username in the Group or user names box. Click Edit..., then choose Read and Write. Ok out, and you're done.

There is. Its just numbers and after you buff it adds an icon and name. It was hard to find for me as it was off the screen to the right.

I loaded up this UI and I like it, it looks great; however everytime I login I'm missing a few windows and I have to reload the UI and have to place all the windows again. I lock the windows but it does no good. Can anyone tell me why it doesn't save like I leave it when i log out?

What windows are you on? And do you have UAC enabled? Where is EQ installed?
I would install it to C:\ instead of program files. Windows security features could make the file unwritable. So it cant save the settings.

First and foremost, thank you for the awesome UI, definintely helps (especially exp grinding, when you actually realize that percent you get per kill, it's not so tedious :P) However I have a question.
I play on a 47-inch HDTV and usually run the resolution at 1600x900, however I mainly run it in that res, because if I go up to 1920x1080 the UI just shrinks down. Now this is easily managed for /chatfont and other windows, but my main concern is if there's any way to increase or double the size of the Spell bar on the side and the buff bar on the side. I love the look of both of them, but the distance from the TV makes reading the spells or buffs/defbuffs a very longterm, painful DoT to the eyes, lol.
So any tip or hints on how to fix those two and make them bigger?
Thank you again for the amazing contribution with all you do :D Definitely keeps the Classic gameplay feel without as much of the classic frustrations.

Short of changing the size of the background squares and changing the animations and buff xml files; no its not possible. The UI is setup to allow other custom buff windows from EQInterface.com but remember the amount of buffs allowed here on Project 1999 differ from the current Live versions. You can always delete the EQUI_Buff and EQUI_Shortdurationbuff windows and it will load the defaults (but without spell names) as a basic option.

Delete the equi_castspellwnd.xml file and it should load the default version.

The right click memming of spells was turned off server side with the release of Kunark. No UI will fix that for you on Project 1999.

I would just like to say that I love your UI. It is a work of art and super functional.
I was wondering if it was possible to alter the order in which your primary, secondary, ranged, and ammo slots were arranged. Or if possible to hide the ranged and ammo slots all together. I switch weapons a lot on my bard and it would be so much more convenient if my mouse did not have to travel as far from the primary slot to the nearest inventory slot. Let me know if you have any ideas or how hard it would be to do.

So before I quit P99 for a year or so (I am back now), Savok had sent me a customized file so that the primary and secondary slots were closer to the bag slots (for easier switching of bard instruments/weapons).
I am playing on a new computer and have tried looking EVERYWHERE for this file in order to do this. Is Savok still around?

Sorry to boost an old thread but I wasnt about to create a new one. In the group window, when you click on someone's health bar near the bottom of their bar, there's a good chance you will end up clicking the person below your target click in the group window. It seems like the references are off. Anyway to adjust this slightly?

I had same issue. It's the background textures, turn them off.

Anyone else having the issue where the UI stops sending/receiving with the game? I have had it happen twice now and not sure if its related to the new V31 patch or Vert99, or a combination of both.
When installing V31 I didn't install the UI files at all, should of I?
Also, it seems to be temporary, like 30 seconds or so and then it recovers.

I have never had an issue with the UI in P99. I also didn't install the UI folder from the patch as it makes no changes to spell files or anything of importants other than cosmetic changes (the Vert UI already has these fixes).
You can try to run with default as see if it gives you the same issue?

It could just be lag, I see everything else going on around me though. The hot-keys just stop responding and the life bars of group and MOBS don't move. Chat seems to work fine during all of this as well.
I will keep an eye on it and see if it returns since it didn't happen at all last night.

I play on a 47-inch HDTV and usually run the resolution at 1600x900, however I mainly run it in that res, because if I go up to 1920x1080 the UI just shrinks down. Now this is easily managed for /chatfont and other windows, but my main concern is if there's any way to increase or double the size of the Spell bar on the side and the buff bar on the side. I love the look of both of them, but the distance from the TV makes reading the spells or buffs/defbuffs a very longterm, painful DoT to the eyes, lol.
So any tip or hints on how to fix those two and make them bigger?
Great UI Savok! i have recently started using it, but am experiencing the same issues as the user i have quoted above. Has anyone found a way to fix this? i"m finding that any resolution above 1600x900 shrinks the UI down quite a lot making the spell and buff bars hard to read.

if you go into your UI folder and open the file EQUI_CastSpellWindow in a text editor, you can see individual x, y coordinates and lengths for each part of that object. with a little crafty editing, you should be able to just multiply the size of everything by, say, 200%.
be careful with the buttons, as you will have to change both the x and y values in order to prevent overlapping.
it is possible to edit your UI while in game. any changes tht you make to your ui will not show in game until you type "/loadskin" and choose your updated ui. this is an easy way to test your changes to see if you like them.
be sure to link to hosted versions of your changes here on forums, as others could benefit im sure!

06/24/14 - Removed the XML data that showed the target con in the target window, this patch will remove the small black box you were seeing.

So I am attempting to get horizontal hotbars.. I just downloaded it and put it in my eq folder.. it will not load after I restart the client. Same 1 vertical hotbar.
I played on p99 over a year ago and I had horizontal hotbars dunno why they changed it to 1.
Any help here would be great, thanks!

I am having issues trying to load this UI, I downloaded all the files for both the blue and green vert UI(Not sure the difference between the two), Moved the files into a new folder that I have created under UI. It doesnt change the UI at all. Any pointers or advice on what I am doing wrong?

Make sure the folder name is only one word with no spaces or special characters.

I just haven't had time to look at it. It should get fixed next week. For now you can just /loadskin again and it will disappear until you relog.

The issue is my HP not being displayed correctly, if you look at the image I am at 100% HP and its showing 94% or 1639 of 1738 total. Reloading the UI doesnt fix it..anyone else experience this bug occasionally? how do i fix?

Kovas / Savok, after messing with the UI for about 6 hours yesterday, and re-installing EQ all together, I still have 1 HUGE problem. I cannot for whatever reason right click on any of the chat boxes / buff bars / hotkey bars, nothing. Wont let me lock any of the chat boxes, hell I cant even inspect people. When I right click someone, it guves me the con, but will not inspect them. Mouse look is activated (f12). I also noticed after a little while that my buff bar would just automatically re-assign its position on my screen for some reason. I am all out of ideas and patience. I even tried to use the default UI, default OLD UI, AND the Velious UI, and I have the same problem. Any ideas on where to start??

Do you have /toggleinspect off? Try /toggleinspect on. Also, make sure you don;t have EQ installed in the Program Files folder as you don't have admin rights to change settings for the UI or game.

I am having a issue when I ALT + TAB out to window mode to look up quest at maps ect.. That when I ALT TAB to full screen I can not click on bags/hoykeys and such in the UI or I get sent back to the windowed mode. Anyway to fix this problem?

in your ui folder there are a bunch of xml files. these each control the appearance of the modukles on screen with different codes. if you look within them (with a text editor) you will see different things like x,y coorrds and pixel sizes and stuff.
the one you are looking for should say hot bars or action bars.. fiddle with this and u can get what u want.
i would love to just post the ui object u are waiting for, but im afraid youre on your own as i am terribad at code 😐

Does this UI still work, i made a folder in uifiles and downloaded blue version into the folder but whenever i click on the folder in my load ui skin the screen blinks like it is loading it but just the defualt ui is there.

I spoke to Haynar awhile ago about this issue and he said he had found the backend reason as to why this happens and was going to patch it (its how the server hides the target color box I believe). I'm guessing he never added that.
For the time being you can just /loadskin again and it will disappear.

I just installed Vert Blue and wanted to say "Thanks!" for keeping that alive. EQ just wouldn't be the same for me without.
Now I need to figure out if I can mod the group window to include myself as well as I did before.

I'm trying to modify the slots in HotButtonWnd(1) in EQUI_HotButtonWnd, specifically the added slots on the right which I think are identified as NewSlot 1-12. In my mind it would be as easy as modifying the background line, and eqtype line to match whatever inventory slot I want, pulling the proper nomenclature from EQUI_Inventory.

I think that just identifies the block itself if you wanted to reference it or reuse it in another portion of the XML, but it might need to change if this block itself is pulling from another section.

For others who are inclined to do this, I figured out my issue. Folders that are like named, will load the first of the two(i.e. if you have two folders Folder1 and Folder2, at some point the client cuts out the rest, and will load Folder1 regardless of which one you choose). If you are going to keep the same name, add your identifier to the beginning of the folder name, not the end of it.
