Must restart client to zone

Some days are worse than others but lately every time I zone I receive the "Entering _______" message but I never load into the zone. I must restart the client and log back in in order to zone. It's becoming game-breaking annoying.

Is there a fix for this?

Moving this to tech, maybe someone else has had the problem.

I would try using WinEQ2.0. There is a free version. That's my suggestion.

sounds similar to the issue both Kinamur and I am having.
Even then for me, that character that was zoning will sometimes hang EQ upon clicking 'enter world' for him and require yet another restart.

A number of people are experiencing an acute onset of this issue, so I am beginning to wonder if its not something more than just a multicore or wineq fix.

Having this same exact problem. It's not every single time I zone but probably around 25%. Everytime it happens it will just hang on LOADING... PLEASE WAIT and requires a restart of the client.

I get the same thing often its worse than having to restart the client I have to turn off the comp completely

Posting things like dbg.txt and system profiles help immensely when trying to diagnose an issue. Its like saying I lost my water in the desert - its futile to go and try to find it.

Maybe you both have the same driver, or motherboard or ram or some such, etc.

population is over 700, i dont experience crashes from zoning (not when used the old textures nor after i replaced them with the newer ones)
YES, I ADMIT, im not using the classic textures anymore!

Same here. Seems that after 8PM Eastern time I lock up every time I zone and need to restart the client since Monday this week.

like to add that sometimes it isnt a lockup, just 5 minutes unresponsive and it boots me back to the login screen, whereupon logging into server select its usually blank the first once or twice I try.

It does seem to occur more during high populations but it still happens even at very non-peak hours.

I wonder why some people experience this problem and others don't.
