A RLF of mine quit playing about 3 months ago. I finally pursued him to login tonight for some plvln.

Figured buying him a nicey would help set the addiction again.

What are the top 3 tradeable Bard DPS weapons?

Bard dps... nope.
If you're rich, buy him a selo's drum and a mcvaxius horn. It'll help him lvl up faster when he needs to solo.
Otherwise, BoH/guardian mace, or Sionachie's partisan for a cheaper mainhand.

P.S: there are class forums now :)

Until you have good haste (item + song/spell), selos drums + the 3 chants will do more DPS than melee. Add an AoE DoT for the fourth twist if you don't need mana/hp song and have the space.

What they said. After like level 25 you might as well have a Orc Pick for a weapon on a Bard. They are all about songs.

However, if you are dead set on weapons, let me introduce you to the wiki:

wiki.project1999.org (http://wiki.project1999.org/index.php/Main_Page)

Head over to the Bard Class Equipment page (http://wiki.project1999.org/index.php/Category:Bard_Equipment), pick the (http://wiki.project1999.org/index.php/Special:ClassSlotEquip/Bard/1H_Blunt) weapon (http://wiki.project1999.org/index.php/Special:ClassSlotEquip/Bard/1H_Slashing) skill (http://wiki.project1999.org/index.php/Special:ClassSlotEquip/Bard/Piercing) you'd like to use, and then sort the list by DPS (the 2rd column) and you'll have your answers in no time in a DIY fashion.

I know about the wiki, but thank you. I like to have conversations with my fellow community members which is why I created the post. I do apologize for my pixels.

I use sionachies partisan and crystalline short sword, both have nice charisma for CC and solid melee ratios

I'm just trying to help you help yourself. There are many people who do not know about all the wonderful functionality included in the wiki. I also had another post in this very thread where I conversed with you about weapons and some general guidelines on bard DPS (or lack-there-of), please don't take any tones you may assume from my posts personally, as they are not intended that way.

Breath of Harmony + Guardians Mace are best DPS. Followed by Jade Mace for ratio.

Songs are probably better overall leveling up, but you want to keep your skills up, so it's best to have a 1hs+1hb.

And piercing! You'll need it for Velious BIS:
Nature's Melody (http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=7710)
or its NTOV counterpart:
Siren Song (http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=5857)

Damn Koi'Dokens bard dagger is the BIS with Epic? 15/22 with its effect and stats is solid, but that's boring. Koi'Doken is such a push over.

Also, if you're soloing, fear kiting is almost infinitely more fun than circle kiting. And in groups you'll still be most effective if you melee and pull back to CC/sing only when things get rough, IMO.

It's not hard to keep 2 mobs locked down and melee a third with practice. And you don't want a dot to break your mezzes.
