Okay so by sheer luck i managed to get past the previous issue of the path/exe problem. i downloaded and extracted to the proper directorys the most recent spell and change files for the patch, ran the Emu patcher, selected server, logged in, but at character selection screen, it says my files are out of date, ErrorCode DLL-2

Can anyone explain to me whats wrong here?
I have the most current updates for both already installed in. i cant run in a compadiblity mode because i will get the Exe and path error from the shortcut. i do not have this issue (Exe and path error) if i use the Emupatcher. i have run Duxa's Upgrades with patcher. same result. help.

make sure you run the patcher as admin (right-click, run as administrator) That should allow the files to overwrite correctly

Extract this patch into your Everquest installation folder. (With Win7 you need to right-click "Run as Admin" even if your account has administratrative priveledges)

Then go into that folder, find the Eqgame.exe and create a shortcut of it on your desktop.
(right-click > send to > desktop)

Then find that new shortcut on your desktop, right-click > properties. And in the "Target" field, add double quotes around the text there, and then also add to the end (outside of the quotes) add this: -patchme

example:

Target: "D:\EQEmu\eqgame.exe" -patchme

Then try launching the game using that shortcut.

Have you physically checked that the correct and up-to-date files are there. In the past when I have had to update files they haven't overwritten properly for some reason and I have had to delete the old files before adding in the new ones.
