Ok after playing the beta this weekend for about 8 hrs i must say this is the most amazing game in history. It has it all, PvP scenarios ( 5v5 7v7 etc ) WvW which 100+ peeps dishing it out over the whole realm and even a sickass PvE storyline if u choose to do that path. At the last hour the developers decided to do a fcking amazing event which will prevent any wet dreams i had going due to not being able to sleep now. Just check out this dragon we were put up against.

Yeah... words cant explain. It was a complete cocktease having hundreds of people attacking him for 30mins getting it to nearly 10% as the beta came to an end.

I really enjoyed the little I played of the game over the weekend (I only got to level 12) and am excited for release or at least a release date announcement.

GW2 is looking amazing. Had great fun this weekend, and am generally not a PVP person, but the poster is right. PVP is done well in GW2.

I had to quit buying new MMOs, I bought like every new one (sans super heroes) for the past 2 years and every single one sucked dick.

Don't buy into the hype, wait a couple months and see what it develops into.

Normally I'd agree 100%. I'm jaded after getting too excited pre-launch with games that end up lacking.

However, the guys posting here aren't buying into the hype. I believe they are saying they actually played the game and really enjoyed it. That's encouraging to hear, and especially coming from this crowd gives me hope. I expect the fanboys on the GW2 forums to claim it's the best game since computers were invented, but having a thumbs up from some veteran EQ players means a lot more.

Out of all the garbage that's out there on the market, this game looks the most promising. Although hold your load, wait and see.

I've been going back and forth on whether I want to buy it or not. I don't know if I want to go through all this crap again in yet another game.

But....if it were actually, you know, fun---that would be another story.

Is it possible? Could it actually be----fun?

Whoa, don't go off my opinion! I only played to the teens and had like 3% of the world discovered.

Played like 5 hours of the beta 2 weekend and only got to level 12, but ive got to give it serious potential props.. I would compare it to what the game warhammer online should have been as far as the wvw/rvr pvp scenarios and such goes, with x1000 more polished classes, storylines, combating. Its fascinating to say the very least, looking forward to beta 3 or even release - if you preorder the game u get access to the beta + 3 days advanced before its released( Weekends is how long it usually lasts which is pretty crappy ). Im sure you can get a refund if its not what you thought it'd play out to be.

Is this going to have tons of expansions one after the other that you have to keep buying?
