Was my first day playing on Legacy of Zek and it's been a ton of fun. Got my first yellow text kill today. (Maze with the assist) Just an overall great experience, leveling isn't instant 50 so you still gotta do some grinding, but it's not a big deal for casual's.

The GM's been pretty cool. (always nice to have a gm presence) The player base seems to be reporting any bug's they see and they try to fix it.

Soul Binding Npcs: These are also great, obviously not classic but these npcs are a great help for melee's just getting started.


Took around 7 hours to get level 30, had a lot of help tho.

3) it's I believe 300% exp which is about 2 day played to 50 or 48 hours which is just about perfect for a emulated eq PVP server, tho if it was my project I would prolly scale it to 400% to level 10 300% to 35 then 200% to 50.

mellow its all good. fbss rare as shit but 3 weeks ago it was just me and like one other guy so he gave it to me. not like he could sell it. i believe i am the only active person that actually has one cuz ive been offered alot of shit but samwise is no barter and plats and wares do not excite me. bottom line is this server is more in line with what i want. melee is buffed here so you dont have to wait for kunark, ect to be a badass. Root DOES stop fear in classic. As for FG's being immune to dragon roar, I was the only person on the entire server to report this bug, even though my guild at the time was abusing it. I have a feeling your guild abused it too. Either way you certainly did nothing to get this bug fixed.

Anything that happens elsewhere just won't give you that warm feeling as long as r99 exists, so everyone knows why you cry burn it down.

If you win anywhere else, it will be like the champions of the japanese world series boasting themselves as the "best in the world." Actually a closer analogy would be like winning the special olympics while the real competitors are in the actual olympics. There will always be that legit server (r99) where players were better, smarter, more organized, and more successful in every aspect of Everquest than your starting line up in the minors.

Sometimes I feel the same way, and worry the same thing.

I don't think its the case though (growing up). Games just aren't what they used to be, and theres just not much demand for games like EQ, even when they are available.

In a perfect world, we'd have a perfect reproduction of EQ classic, with an enthusiastic staff that communicated with us, and thus, a significantly higher playerbase. We'd have more frequent updates, events and bonuses, and players to group/pvp/exp and raid with, and the "grind" would be more enjoyable like it once was. It aint meant to be done alone...

Now people think the game thats always had a slower progression, should be grindless. People say they don't want it, but when its not there, the game is not meaningful and your time investment doesn't feel worthwhile. The same way winning at tic tac toe is less meaningful than winning a game of chess or Risk.

Even with a server thats stable and as close to classic as project99 is, a portion of the playerbase doesn't want classic (while many say they do), another portion doesn't know what they want (while they think they do), and yet another part still won't be happy no matter what happens. All the meanwhile they actively engage in tearing down what we do have in favor of what they want even when its statedly not what is being offered.

I know what I want - to log in, be able to find some dudes to progress my toon with (exp/items/dungeons/raids) and have fun fighting both the environment (pve) and players (pvp) to accomplish it. Thats classic EQ. I know because I spent thousands of hours playing it (Rallos Zek 99-01).

People need to figure out what they really want. If its classic EQ, they should play and enjoy it for what its worth (imperfect classic EQ - with a very part time staff). If not, people should find a better classic EQ server (there are none), another game or a modded server that removes the grind and gives them the more instant, but less enduring enjoyment (tic tac toe).

I get to relax for a few hours go to bed and get up to work the next day. i can't remember tho milk only fills up like max 4 hearts or maybe 8 not sure. so when I say 8 complete heals, I mean, completely heal your 3 heart bars.

dont collect any hearts after you beat dungeons just break the wrist and walk away. don't try to emulate the N64 and play on your computer you need a real N64 and the controller. Helps if you pre-ordered the Gold cartridge and waited for YEARS for it to come out too.

Even with a server thats stable and as close to classic as project99 is, a portion of the playerbase doesn't want classic (while many say they do), another portion doesn't know what they want (while they think they do), and yet another part still won't be happy no matter what happens. All the meanwhile they actively engage in tearing down what we do have in favor of what they want even when its statedly not what is being offered.

They want fast paced exp to bring in "new blood" to the server to recruit new guys that will help them move the focus of our Classic EQ server solely to pvp, rather than pve with pvp competition (classic EQ). They want to run off (destroy) the "bluebie pixel farmers", and have pvp thats based around who can rack up the most kills, the biggest kill streaks, spam the server with the most yellow text, and put their name highest on some fucking leaderboard.

Its a pipe dream. Its not gonna happen with Rogean here, so enjoy Legacy of Zek. We'll be enjoying classic EQ with pvp competition, thusly by grinding with our pals, filling progress bars, killing bawses, farming pixels, and stomping on whatever "vztzjects" decide to stop by our server.

Currently I can load into any of the servers fine, 99 red, ez server etc when i try to play legacy of zek i get to character creation and thats fine as soon as i hit enter world it freezes and eventually does not respond for a little bit it was letting me log into a human sk but now that one wont zone in as well. what ive done to try and fix it..

I logged on, saw I had missing models (in Cabalis, some sort of wolves I've never seen before. They appeared as tiny default humans), saw I had to patch my spells, read I had to play with a clean Titanium install because p99 or r99 patch would make it quirky there, and realized I can't play both here and there.

I'm gonna try to install a separate Titanium client in another folder and see if that works.
