For me, I have this strange tendency to think that people dying in EverQuest is like, one of the funniest things I have ever seen. Sometimes it feels as if it's really a conflict of interest for me to play a healer.

Reclaiming my ranger's account information that TMO stole, then subsequentialy stealing faydedar the second I logged back on him for IB.

Abacab used to play this cleric (pretty sure it was Abacab, anyway) and he would basically sit in unrest until he got a group, and then grief his group completely. Run/gate when more than one mob was around, 'forget' to heal, afk at inconvenient times, etc. That was funny shit. Imma try to find the posts about it now, come to think of it.

This was in live, but one of the funniest memories I have is one of my first Oasis groups. We had two human monks in the group: one male, one female. They kept practicing their Feign Death skill in between pulls.

This is ancient at this point, and I can't even find the post in the screenshots section anymore, but does anyone remember the name of that mage that had like a hundred corpses from AFK leveling in OOT? Gmgee or something like that?

All I remember is he logged off and when he came back, he had deleveled to down to 1 and someone here was kind enough to capture the carnage. I believe he quit the server at that point. And it was hilarious.

It depends how they die, whether it is funny or not. If they are doing something stupid they shouldn't be doing, I know it is real tempting to hesitate clicking on your heal gem for a split second just to watch the idiot get his butt handed to him then say 'Ooops, sorry' when he gets back from his corpse run. :eek:

I haven't been able to find those spell gems since a patch a couple years ago broke them. The "classic" spell gems available in the tech section of the forum aren't really classic.

I can't think of many particularly funny moments on P1999, but as a general rule having Karsten and his buddies in the group early on was amusing, both for their silly antics and for their rotten (alternately, "exciting") pulling.

They're the nearest-to-correct icons for the classic era I've yet seen on Titanium client that work on default and default_old UI. Negative, imo. The ones available now are the most classic that have been recreated.

If so, then I'm glad to see those and will adopt them immediately.

I was aware of the genine classic-style gems for the velious-style UI, but was under the impression they did not work for Default and Default_old UI's.

The spell gems in the first post there are the gems I'm using now (listed under "classic-rounded"), which are not strictly classic (the spellbook icons are original, but the spell-gems are not). I think I recall discussing the issue with Savok quite some time ago and, if memory is accurate, he said he wasn't making true classic gems due to a perceived lack of demand. That's fine and no complaint from me since it was a volunteer effort. It was always a bit of a downer since the original spell gems P1999 used upon opening (as seen in the screenshot) were closer to classic. Since I want the PoP-era UI (called "default_old" by Titanium) more than the original spell gems that can be found in the pseudo-Velious UI, I'll have to stick with what I'm using for now.

If some method of making the spell gems from that Velious UI work in the stock Titanium UI's has been discovered in the nearly two years since that thread was posted, I'd love to know. (actually, there's no reason a forum mod couldn't remove these last few posts to THAT thread since they're really a derail of this thread).

Diggle started casting port to Toxx and then everyone else left the group except for the TMO guy who was a rogue.

He petitioned, posted on the forums, all sorts of crying but I have to say that was hands down the funniest thing I ever saw. It was the only time I felt like one of the forum trolls got a little of what should have been coming to them.

Anyone remember the lore guy? About every minute he would /ooc a different piece of EQ lore until he finally was banned iirc. Was kinda funny. Global ooc was always the funniest.

Following this, I accidentally ported some TR enchanter to Toxx. I sent Diggles a tell that I was then busy and his guildie needed a ride.;) Knowing Diggles, the poor chanter probably had to sit there a while.

Man...there have been some great times on this project :/ One of the most memorable moments for me was becoming a "npc" and giving out little quests to new players. Me, being the drunken dwarf I always was, would issue out commands such as "Bring me Ale! NOW!" and whatnot, never really giving the player any idea it was just a game.

This one guy actually went above and beyond, spent all his gold he had on him and came back with like 4 stacks of beer. The little newbie was incredibly freaked out because he thought I was going to ban him that he spent everything! I felt so bad after he traded it to me that I demanded he drink a stack with me.

While we were chugging, I messaged a player whom I had a great relationship with and asked if he had anything to spare for a pally (this guy was a fellow dwarf pally). Sure enough, he had a few high-ish items so I ported him over to us and gave some nice dialogue like "Congratulations on blahblahblah". My friend opened trade and gave him these items to this level like 10 newb, as well as 300plat... That guy was incredibly happy and thanked us and wouldn't stop bothering me for a week...

A month or two later, I banned the guy for boxing.
