Might be giving away all my stuff / plats if someone can convince me why. Up to you guys. It's been real, and I'll probably still troll the forums to defend my honor.
If not, will probably log in to play occasionally and click my shrunken gobby earring.

I am anticipating you will end up just like me, coming back to p99 in about 3 weeks. I remember when D2 came out, a ton of people left eq.... for about a month, then most of them came back. But if you want to give your items away, you should randomly run around in noob zones giving them to real noobs (not the alts in WC who claim they are noobs by removing gear/etc when people are doing give aways)

No pvp.
Perma RMT.
Only 4 people per room.
No LAN play.
SOUNDS LEGIT.

Yeah I'm not optimistic about it but figure it will be more casual to play. I'm employed full time and have already felt the urge to call in sick to play EQ - so I'm trying to avoid letting it grip me like it used to a decade ago when I had no responsibilities haha.

When you feel this way about a game, you know you have found something you can really have fun with. Immersion is the #1 quality you can find in a video game, and that is why the majority of us are here. That feeling when you first logged in, it is as indescribable as your first time at Burning Man. Has there ever been a game in the history of computers that has had that same immersive feeling as EverQuest? YOU WERE THERE.

Nope. No other game has ever had me so terrified of dying. I remember circa 2000 some high lvl chanter gave my lvl 8 bard 50pp - I went and bought a full suit of leather, rolled out to blackburrow, and fell through the trick tree stump right by entrance into elite room/area. I spent the next two hours shitting myself trying to get to the top.

Keep your stuff. Diablo will be a great distraction, for a time, but you'll regret it down the line if you do get the urge to come back and have to start from scratch.
Besides, nobody here needs hand-outs THAT bad. We can earn our way, enjoy your hiatus with the shiny new toy and come back to us soon.

Please give all your gear away so you are not tempted to come back, I doubt the server can handle more of your spammy "hey guys look i'm playing everquest/Hey guys 2 weeks later a new game came out I'm outtiiiieee" shit posts.

i never played diablo before and i tried the beta for d3 for about 45 minutes and it sucked. My roommate wants to start playing it, but I have a question....is it open world like EQ or is it kinda like instanced like LDoN? If it is instanced, when can you hangout with the rest of the people playing the game - in a marketplace or something like that?

Diablo III is fun - atmospheric like Diablo I. I played for a couple of hours last night and really enjoyed it.
But... I don't see the need to stop playing on P99 because I am playing Diablo III. I'll play them both. Problem solved.

Someone can correct me if I am wrong... but there is no "hangout" place in the game. You can login to a single player version of what you are doing, join a friends group, or join a public game, all of which has a maximum of up to 4 players. I logged in last night but my roommate already had a full group of friends, so ended up just doing things on my own. You don't see other people while running around town, the only other people you will see in the game is the people you are grouped with.

why bag out diablo? every single game created by blizzard has been amazing.
the perma RMT thing isnt that bad.
why live in a fear that p99 is dieing? if people want to play another game just let them, stop trying to boost the population by bagging other games
