I loved the Testament of Vanear quest back in the day. It was the first quest I ever did that yielded a worthy item - and the lore was interesting too.
What are some other quests that might be worth doing to relive the classic EQ experience? I'm playing a monk so am partial to those but would appreciate any answers!

Sorry to just breeze past the "i'm playing a monk statement", but I felt compelled to say that the Burning Rapier quest was really a hell of a lot of fun for me.

i feel like saying this is a cop-out, but i really liked the monk epic quest. it can be started from level one by working on the white headband/sash and just ramps up as you go along. there are great rewards a long the way and the lore of re-discovering a lost monk order is pretty cool.

Personally I like the Treant Fist quest for monks, mainly because they were magic and they were hard to come by in classic, and of course their plate look and matching colour to the lost circle robe! although the alchemist spawns can be an arse, but IMO they are worth the waiting around for!

Raincaller.
It started at level one and went until you raised your fletching skill enough to actually make the Trueshot longbow.
Then you had to do the parts at higher levels in order to get the Raincaller

I don't know if many did the quest because the reward was absurdly bad for the efoort, but the greatest classic quest in my opinion was the holy partisan of underfoot. I remember doing this quest with my two queating pals and it took us months to finish. The tale behind it was epically ddeep. The quest took us all over norrath, keeping us on our toes the whole time. Redeeming good ol dru was probably my favorite eq memory.

If you are a wizard, you MUST have Staff of Temperate Flux. It is a class perk.

reserved militia tunic.
totemic armour quests.
robe of the lost circle.
testament of vanear was really fun.
vp key was fun for me.
Hukulk or wth that troll at Grobb was, this whole troll love triangle going on. Lynuga had dumped this guy, had a new boyfriend at Neriak, had to find out who that is, kill him, rip off head. Also involved Happy Love Bracers. Also loved the part that you had to talk to your victims and figure out that he had handed his Bracers away to another person, and that person would also drop his head when slain. So you could bring wrong items to the quest giver and fail the whole thing.
And the bracers dropped during it have best item name in game.

As a paladin, I always liked The Bones of Darak Lightforge. You collect the remains and armor of a long-dead paladin of Marr from around the old world. When you go to give him a proper burial in West Commonlands, he resurrects as an evil undead! You have to kill your brother paladin and collect his ashes.
When you return his ashes to the proper authority, you are rewarded with the spell scroll Divine Might. This spell imbues your weapon with a 65 point DD magic proc!
I never ever thought I would get this spell on this server, as one part of Darak's remains is in Phinegel's room. I have screenshots at home, but a couple of fellows from one of the bigger guilds about 4 months ago helped me get that piece and then later helped me with the resurrected Darak.
I'll look up those screenies and once again thank the folks that helped me with that later =)

Testament of Vanear
Paw of Opolla
In Kunark... Epic
In Velious, Shawl + Coldain Ring
In PoP the flagging itself was pretty cool + Signet of Arcane/Might + Secret of the Planes
In GoD definitely BiC, best quest in the game IMO.
