Yeah, I saw a post this morning about the game going down for server maintenance.

umm anywhere from 30 mins or so to 5 or 6 hours depending on the staff working at that time or no one at the helm x.x

Expect several hours. As always on MONDAY NIGHT... The server crashed, no one in IRC is an admin... Should be up in about 6-8 hours.

It's probably a routine SQL backup job, that someone improperly configured rights/passwords/DNS/etc. to, and instead of running it during daytime hours when someone could be around to recover the server, it's run at night while ppl sleep =p

This was horrible timing for me as I had just dropped 8 full bags of CB belts on the ground for an alt and tried to log back in and server down :(

i understand why you would do that but i would say to find a friend or so for now on to avoid messes like this. you never knew what could happen

nope. its a login server crash. As I understand it, this is usually a quick fix if a dev is available to address it, but they may not be.

They never are at night. That or they like to watch how late we will all stay up waiting on the the login server to come back up. Either way usually is hours better off napping and playing in the morning.

So, I saw that the login server went dead. I was able to stay in the game and now there's less that 100 people in. I was excited at first, but now I realize that I'm the only person in Gfay and there is nothing to do until the server is up. I'm in a Gfay silent prison! I'm too high to get xp from anything. :)

The login server seems fine, all the other world servers including red(99) seem to be fine, when i attempt to join p99, my memory sticks at 36128b and i am eventually thrown back to the login screen. If i had to guess from the posts here and the fact the login server is working perfectly for the rest of the worlds. I would say the world server itself has crashed disconnecting the zones.
