Translocators

I have had problems with translocators not responding to me at times. It has happened to me in BB and also Erud's Crossing. They treat me as invis even though I am not. I also had a person come try to hail the translocator and it responded to him. He also said I appeared invis to him and then popped out of nowhere. I do not have hide or invis. I am playing a bard. When this happens t he only abilities I have used are Selo's Accelerando and Forage. Not sure if it could be linked to one of those. Just a heads up.

Tested a bit more, it is linked to forage. I'm not sure if forage is making me invis or what but if i use forage then don't move and hail translocator, he will not respond. Then I move a bit and try again and he responds.

Translocators reply to you whether you have invisible on or not.

Now what happens is, sometimes, if you try hailing at the same time or right after someone hailed it, it won't answer you.

To get a proper translocate, what you need to do is target the translocator, hail him, make sure he answered you, then say the key words.

1 answer + keywords = 1 port

0 answer + keywords = 0 port

2 answers + 2x keywords = 2 ports

1 answer + 2x keywords = 1 port


Mind you, this might be another problem than what you're describing and forage is indeed a problem of its own.

Sounds like you aren't close enough when you Hail the translocator. Also, you don't have to hail the translocator, you can simply say the keywords.

Same as I have noticed. The Traslocators have a very small area around them where they respond, and they might also miss your frase if another player just got ported or just hailed them.

Hint 1: Practically stand on their toes
Hint 2: Make some macroes with the text eg. "/say travel to Butcherblock"

Wish i had done this, you know there's nothing more annoying than busting a gut to run to the translocator whilst it's still up, to hail it and then type out the words and it despawn before you finish QQ.

The only danger of the hotkeys is pressing the wrong one. When in OOT, if you hit "travel to freeport" when you wanted to hit "travel to butcherblock", then you've just EQ'd yourself :D

Also you can repeat your last statement by pressing 'shift'+'UpArrow'.
Some people might not know this.

Instead of making a hotkey (since I don't use TLs very often) I just type up the phrase and say it beforehand then when the TL arrives I use the aforementioned shortcut.

I didn't know what to say to the erudin TL :p Hell, i can't remember it now... was it 'travel to erud's crossing' ?

And i don't use them often enough to make a hotkey, i was just having a whinge about it since it despawned literally 1 second before i typed it out :)

Remember people also used to have fun creating a barb named "Haden", buy a fishing pole and place him where "Hadden" spawned

tbh, i never hail the translocator, i just run up close and hit my hotkey.
but you DO need to target him, and have him in your target box for that to work.
